Yeah, great game that I never saw physically as a kid. Stumbled across the rom in a pack. It's interesting.

There's a PS1 sequel which is JP only. It's pretty cool, but I can't into moon.

That's bullshit.
There's lot's of games, movies and novels that are incredible,
but remain unknown because they're not mainstream enough.

They often get some recognition in retrospect,
but in most cases it's too late.

Clocktower for example is one of the best games on the Snes,
but it was only released in Japan.

It's an interesting premise, but the jumping and movement mechanics felt like complete shit to me. Not to mention how stupid the AI was at times. Nothing would piss me off more than trying to rescue people only to have them jump to their death.

I wouldn't mind a game like this again with better controls, though. I really did like the idea, music, and presentation of the game overall.

TWINE only sold 1.08M, and some member of Rare claim PD actually sold 3.2M, not the 2.5 commonly cited.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-10-13-ex-rare-devs-talk-killer-instinct-perfect-dark-interview?page=3

So yea, I think the perception that nobody played PD is mostly created by a butthurt minorty whining about how they couldn't stand it.

Turok 3 is definitely a god-tier game which didn't do well. It showed the N64 could compete directly with Half Life in terms of game design, if you like that sort of linear game design.

Nope, only 1 and 2. Which is a shame because 3 really tightened up the formula and made it story-heavy, with lots of voice acting and well animated cutscenes. While it did cut back in a few areas, notably animation and special effects, the improved framerate over Turok 2 is a bonus.

Very few people remember Turok 3, and I find that really sad. It actuallly has the entire first section of Turok 1 in it - you go back in time or some shit and you're back in that jungle, but with much better graphics.

It works pretty well, if a bit laggy. I use a custom profile for stuff like PD which changes the input mode when I hold the right mouse button to make aiming smoother. But T3 doesn't need that.

>I think Pepsiman on PlayStation was the best videogame experience of my life. Pepsiman was Pepsi's mascot in Japan circa 1995, and he was a can of Pepsi in the shape of a man that vomited Pepsi out of his mouth like a fire hose. He's awesome. In the game you slide and jump over obstacles collecting Pepsi cans until you reach the end of the level, where a crowd is waiting for you to hurl Pepsi all over them.

>The best parts of the game are the cut scenes. They're of a fat American guy who's been watching you play Pepsiman from his TV set in his crummy apartment. He gets really excited when you beat a level, and he'll say something like "Pepsi for TV Game" or "Pepsi for Pizza."

>I could only beat the game with my friend Colin Fleming. We had to hand off the controller to each other during the last level because we were each better at certain parts. It was so hard. We were screaming when we beat the game; then the American guy came on the screen and started screaming with us, saying, "You got it!! Yeahh!! Everybody drink Pepsi!" You can search for those Pepsiman cut scenes on YouTube, but it's so much better seeing them after you've beaten each level. They're so satisfying.

>I'm glad I'm thinking about this. I might do something similar for the Adventure Time game when it comes about.
