Even if you exclude the horrible boss fights it's still only average at best, soundtrack was really awesome though.

I feel that if the marble counter didn't reset every time you die, PORKBOARDING didn't exist, the camera wasn't godawful and the levels were more insane in regards to presentation, i would say it's an underrated game.
But that's what happens when you almost become vaporware and ditch the original team

It's not a meme, PORK BOARDING is the worst level ever designed. Not only it controls like cancer but it's unfairly hard. It's ten times harder than the hardest level in the entire game. It's hard as nails, controls like a soaped up fish on oiled ice AND it's mostly decided by RNG. Even if you play perfectly you might still lose just because the AI decided to be a bitch.
I don't usually condone cheating but PORK BOARDING is an exception, in this case it's fine, go ahead and latch cheat engine onto that bitch and give yourself 9,999 marbles. It's not worth it doing the legit way.

When I was a kid, another kid in the neighborhood had this game. And Superman 64.

I feel bad for his past self.

This and The whole of Fantasy are suicide inducing. I kind of liked the western theme but the levels feel rushed and awful.

>>4593820
The pork Boarding difficulty peaks at Fatty Roswell and gets easier as you go along for some reason. The fact that that fat sack of shit could teleport and had super homing bullets made it fucking unbearable.

Tons of bonus points to this game for bringing back the cast from the EWJ cartoon, including Dan freakin' Castellaneta.

Pork boarding is the quintessential example of artificial difficulty in a game.

>> No.4597024

The game was pretty fun and I enjoyed all the regular levels, but yeah the pork boarding was really annoying. The soundtrack is amazing, I still listen to it from time to time.

There are no good earthworm jim games. Only the art is good. The mechanics are friggn horrible, like an animators idea of what a platformer should be.

Look, the controls are purposely terrible. The difficulty comes not from a pattern that must be memorized or being bombarded by missiles or whatever, but by simple because the controls simple cannot respond in a way that you desire. Experience will only improve your performance marginally, so of course it's artificial difficulty.

>the game is hard because the controls are bad
After being translated out of retard speak it doesn't sound so bad, but you don't want people to accuse you of just being bad at the game, so you shoot yourself in the foot by sticking with muh artifishal diffculty. It might help if you actually explained why you think the controls are bad.

>experience will only improve your performance marginally
So you ARE bad! I gave you all the doubt I could, but a good player can still learn to use bad controls. All crying about makepretend difficulty does is shut down the discussion.

>computerized backgammon
>I can't beat the computer ARTIFICIAL DIFFICULTY
Computerized backgammon literally fixes the opponent player's dice rolls so they get frequent doubles and can re-enter the board after being captured, even if you've put up blockades that are statistically impassable in most cases. The level of cheating is blatant.

It's just easier to code the game this way than try to develop an intelligent AI component that can form adaptive strategies.

>RTS games that give AI opponents faster resources
>I can't beat the computer ARTIFICIAL DIFFICULTY
If you fail to see how giving the AI a distinct advantage over the player isn't unfair, then you may be suffering from a mental deficiency.

>rubber-banding AI
>I can't beat the computer ARTIFICIAL DIFFICULTY
When opponent go-karts can defy the laws of physics to catch up to you, yeah, that's artificial difficulty.

>Do I really need to keep going?
No. I think you've adequately established your retardation.
