Depends on what you're buying and the condition. The majority is used but in good condition. The Zelda GBA SP that I got was used but in great condition, plus it's rare, so it was $80. A regular SP costs $50 there. Got Mother 3 for $30.

If you're asking about the staff, they are very friendly, accommodating, and polite. They're willing to recommend games to you and show you which platforms are region locked and region free. They're even willing to show you what level of Japanese you'd need to know to understand a game. Definitely worth checking out if you ever find yourself in Little Tokyo.

Basically all those Play It stores were a cartel that converted other struggling used game stores into one chain that fixed their prices using eBay as their standard which quickly put many of them out of business. I certainly stopped going to the one on South High the moment they refused to honor a tagged price without checking eBay. That having been said, the one in Clintonville is the closest one to the campus and (along with the HPB on Lane) is a magnet for a lot of interesting stuff that I stocked up on back when more obscure shit was still cheap and I saved paying shipping. I'm sure that if one were to develop a rapport with some of the bros there that he could get the hookup on some stuff that's been sitting around - they often have some cool stuff behind the counter that nobody seems very interested in stuffing onto overfull shelves.

for flea markets, get there AS FUCKING EARLY AS YOU CAN. if it opens at 7am, get there at fucking 6:30 so you can get in ASAP.

i been doing flea markets for over 20 years now and my market is super fucking competitive now in the last 2 years. good thing is, i can show up as early as people start setting up, as early as like 3-4 am. guys like me are the reason you aren't finding shit strolling in at 9 and walking around til 12.

get a knack for either knowing WHAT you want to look for, knowing what the systems boxes or carts look like and being able to spot that at 500ft away.

more importantly, if someone is setting up, ask (nicely) if they have games. they ususally will bring them out and you have cart blanch to grab what you want.

one person didn't know what they had, so when i said about games, i said nintendo tapes (what we used to call them 30 years ago) and it clicked and they pulled out several boxes and i got like 5 NES, 2 SNES, a gameboy and like 60 games for $20 because they wanted it all gone.

Oh to actually answer your question, most goodwills list their good shit online now, so it's really hard to find good game shit anymore. I live in a major US city, so the goodwills are always getting shit in, but it's slim pickings.
