Not him. Sonic 3D Blast is not bad, it's just below average. It has nice music, and the art direction gives me a bit of nostalgia for that late 90s glossy prerendered graphic style, but the game design falls short. Not horrible, but not exactly remarkable either.

Sonic R is probably my favorite spin-off (Fighteres is also up there). Really wish it had gotten a sequel with more tracks. Sega fucked up hard putting sanic characters in cars in the recent racing games.

Sonic Rush is great. Rush and Colors are the only games where boost is used properly. In Generations you have guaranteed perma boost so it just ruins the game.

Puyo Puyo is a series of puzzle games from Japan, dude. Mean Bean Machine is an English port of it for Genesis. Super Nintendo also got a port called Kirby's Avalanche, they're identical.
If you want to play it modern, I recommend Puyo Puyo Tetris.

I never cared for Sonic games as a kid but my parents loved to buy me all the Sonic ones. My mom bought me Sonic Heroes 4 years in a row for Christmas.

One of them I never see mentioned came on a yellow disc for the PC. I literally can not find it anywhere on google but I remember the levels looked fucking amazing.

Have never thought Sonic Labyrinth is at all bad. Those who hate it are likely playing it wrong. Sonic is slow because you're not meant to be fucking running. Use spindashes, the whole game's about angling and controlling spindashes so you can kill enemies and grab all the keys in the time limit. Don't even charge it up either, it goes uncontrollably fast and you'll pinball off walls. Little boosts and managing momentum when you need to change direction are key. Fun game to speedrun too.

I never got into Sonic games.

On one side the games appear like they want you to go fast, but the maps often dont really allow it and have sudden obstacles. And its often more beneficial to go slow. Not to mention the rings you could miss out on if you dont go slow.

How do fans play these games?

There's no issue with missing rings unless you care about your final score, in which case the point is to balance your score and ring bonuses.

'just go fast' is a bit of a meme. it's a platforming game first of all. however, every time you play the game again, you can go a lot faster as you memorize more and more. The main thing about Sonic the Hedgehog is its unique level design.
Most games, punish you for falling/fucking up with death, which makes sense, but most of the levels in the Sonic trilogy punish you by sending you to a slower (generally below) and more hazardous path, and they also reward you with particularly good platforming by letting you go to faster, and usually higher paths. This also why Sonic Adventure games are overrated shit, they're just automatic roller coaster levels with one straight path. Sonic Generations was the first 3D game that really nailed that multi-path reward/punish level desing of the trilogy, but even it has some automatic parts and lacks a lot of actual platforming.

The first time you play, don't worry about going fast, except for at parts when it comes naturally

What are you even talking about? In what ways? Yes, SA2 is bit more linear than SA1, but none of levels in both of those games are automatic or one straight path at all. They also have their own alternate paths as well.
