Does anyone have experience with this controller? I'm stuck with two 3-button Mega Drive controllers of which most buttons don't work and some need very strong button presses.
Also good 3rd party controllers I guess!

is there a good 3rd party saturn controller in case mine gets broken?

Not yet. Retro-bit signed a deal with Sega and showed off a new Saturn controller at CES though. Hopefully they got the blueprints for the orginal and just copied it exactly.

Any alternative to an aimtrak light gun? I want one with recoil, but the recoil on the aimtrak looks weak to what I have said on review videos.

this, i hope it has the same build quality but remain skeptical and i hope the production run is decent for a change and not a limited run to be exploited by reseller cunts who horde 50 each.

OP here. I'm really looking forward to their controllers! Hoping for a good Dreamcast as well. Just uncertain if I should go with the Hyperkin I posted earlier or wait for their product and a comparison on YT.

>>4561258
I might get flak for this, but I found the Hyperkin 6 button controller to be almost identical to the original Sega model in feel. Very highly recommended. I don't have as much experience with Hyperkin's other controllers so ymmv

You could repair your OEM pads. There are controller repair kits out there. Try eBay or your local equivalent.

those guys never held the real thing

it has wobbly buttons and pulling diagonals is impossible with it, don't expect to be playing contra or street fighter with it, but it's fine for jrpg's and such

Are nyko wing classic controllers are good? Or is there a better third party wii classic controller. The original are abot 80 dollars used in my country.

I can dragon punch fine in street fighter with it. The d-pad and shoulder buttons aren't as good as original but its the best alternative to getting a USB converter.

>> No.4561878

>>4561862
I've held both, and I really don't see what you mean about the buttons, the ones on the buffalo feel almost identical to the ones on my OG SNES pad.

Maybe you mean the D-Pad? Because that one is certainly different, it is raised more than the normal SNES pad, which does make a difference for things like special moves in SF, but I've never had an issue with diagonals in Contra.

Get a Mayflash Magic-NS adapter. Takes Wii U/Switch Pro pads and Dualshock 3/4 and converts them to xinput or dinput without having to rely on jankware, keeping shit running in the background, or performing some stupid ritual to sync it every time. There still isn't a good software solution to get wireless Switch controllers running with all the features even if you wanted to be a Jew, and these are among the best controllers out there.

Or just use SCP once and forget about it even existing?
Literally the only thing you need to make a PS3/4 controller work.

Has anyone dicked around with pic related? I'm pretty interested in one. Only real critique I've heard is that the sticks are close to the buttons and d-pad. It's primarily going to be used by a child, so that won't be an issue.

Wonder if you can beat Battletoads with their new Genesis controllers.
I've tried with about 3 different non third party controllers and it's impossible.

>> No.4563073

Ordered mine wednesday, coming in the mail today, sadly going to my parents, will be back monday lol so I'll be able to tell if its as good as a genesis 6 button, if now I got 3 actual genesis 6 button pads, so I may sap the pcb's.

>> No.4563154

>>4562876
My friend has one, and I've used it a quite a bit. The sticks don't feel too close to the buttons/dpad to me. *MY* complaint about the sticks is that they're a little on the short side, so the range of motion feels small compared to, say, a dualshock or x360 controller. You get used to it, though.

The build quality is pretty good. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic, there's no creaking when you use it, and the buttons are easy to press but have a nice return to them. The d-pad is accurate, and feels responsive.

I need to get one for myself. I'm just broke AF right now.

>> No.4563772

>>4563154
Cool cool. Sounds pretty solid to me. RoM on the sticks isn't a huge concern, they won't be getting used too often. It's going to be replacing an official SNES controller that I've had for 20+ years, so it should be fine.

Are there any good N64 3rd-party controllers that have more durable analog sticks than OEM controllers?

>> No.4564462

>>4564396
The only 3rd party N64 controllers that are arguably on par with the originals (though different) are the Hori Mini Pad and there's some new one coming out soon iirc that's being shilled here and by e-celebs, made by a company called "Retro Fighters".

Might as well ask here: I got a controller recently, a cheap one. The thing is, my computer recognizes it and is usable only for a brief period of time. Like, I put it in the USB, it will work fine for 5 minutes, sometimes not even that, then it stops completely, not even the led turns on anymore. I have Windows 7, btw. Can anybody tell me what's going on?

use motherboard usb ports

if that doesnt help, you got a way too cheap controller, shove it up your ass.

>> No.4570487

>>4570481
Not the port, I've tried a different one. Thing is, I'm kinda afraid to buy a good/expensive controller and have the exact same problem, since I believe it's the PC being no-fun-allowed on me, rather than the controller itself.

>> No.4570494

>>4561258
The GN6 is a piece of shit. Good fucking luck playing any of the Genesis' shmup library when you can't even reliably do upper diagonals on the dpad.

>> No.4570512

Got the hyperkin 6 button controller, and yea.......the down button and up initially only would register sometimes. I also have a real genesis 6 button here, so I opened both up and the shape of hyperkins is a but smaller and omits some holes in the pcb board, which would hold the pcb board better against the buttons.
I taped a piece of hard paper on the back of the controller behind the pcb board where the dpad goes and that seemed to do the trick.
I also put the pcb in the original genesis controller, because hyperkins does still feel a but different, not as sexy smooth as the original.
But yea, so many of these repoduction controllers seem to never keep the shape of the pcb from the original.

Yes, that may be the only one that I would feel safe buying, I think. It's a little expensive in my country, but will have to do.
