>WAAAH WHY ARE YOUNG KIDS NOT INTERESTED IN MY OLD SHIT
>I WANT NEW STUFF TO BE MORE LIKE MY OLD STUFF!
>WAAAAH WHERE DID ALL THESE CASUALS CAME FROM
>YOU DON'T BELONG IN HERE GET OUT OF MY LAWN REEEEEEE
So which is it then, do you even want new games to pander to your tastes or do you want old shit to stay as obscure and inaccessible as possible as a means to keep newfriends the fuck out?

come again

For instance, take the whole progress systems debate. You complain that new games rely too much on addictive progress systems, but you don't even like new games, how does that affect you?

Why do you care?

If old stuff are as different from new stuff as possible, shouldn't you be happy that is keeping newfags and casuals out?

Why WOULD you want new shit to be more like old shit, you don't even like new shit.

Just shut the fuck up.

Why the fuck does new games affect you? You're happy with old shit, you don't really need them.

These games have been out for decades, popularity doesn't affect them in anyway.

that's just one autist whining about progress systems in every thread
just ignore him, not worth making a shit thread and getting yourself b&

The only thing I resent from modern times is how by virtue of people in general not liking my preferred style of games (arcade inspired) they are now almost extinct. I wouldn't mind if the modern stuff coexisted with classic style games peacefully but these last few years have been particularly harsh on folks like me.

My favorite non-argument so far
>Cuphead has infinite checkpoints and unlockables
>that means it's skinner box progress systems loot box garbage and not a real arcade game

I ain't afraid of bans anyway, how newfag are you?

Well, it's not truly arcade style, it's made to be like a MegaDrive style game (as in, a made for console game from that era). Pretty close and not bad at all but still.

The thing is he's talking about mostly me (posts: >>4553616 and >>4553621 ) but as you can see I'm not the only one that dislikes progress sytems and how they eventually plagued gaming.

Cuphead is arcade style run'n gun. Jet Buster is arcade style shmup. Fight 'n Rage is arcade style beat'em up. Dragon Ball Fighter Z is arcade style fighter.

You just like to come up with excuses because new games challenge you and take you out of your comfort zone.

Have you looked into speedruns? They mostly ignore save systems and start the game from a blank state every single time.

You COULD beat the game in one life, you know. That should bring it closer to an arcade experience (but not quite)
