i try to give it 5+ years between 'runs' of games because after all that time has passed, they have a chance to surprise me again. It worked with Wind Waker which I enjoyed much more the second time round.

The hell? The sustained multidirectional fire is great against regular enemies and minibosses. And it's only terrible aganist bosses until you get the double damage upgrade. Once you do that it's the best overall weapon in the game.

Unless they nerfed it for the GBA version.

On my first playthrough I ended up switching back to Mega Man, it seems like the charged buster shot is put ore to use than anything Bass can do. I would zip through the levels (not literally) with him, but he could never destroy any given enemy with his pea shooter before getting up close to it so his movement seemed almost worthless.

I don't think I will ever get sick of Mega Man X. I know it by heart at this point and can just run through and 100% the game over and over. I somehow amuse myself with Final Fantasy Tactics just grinding and building up team combinations and whatnot for hours and hours. I think my old save file had 150+ hours logged before I got rid of the card.

And, of course, Umihara Kawase in all her glorious forms, SNES, Playstation, DS and the upcoming 3DS release.

All throughout my life, I play each of those through at least once every few months. Don't know why. Used to play the piss out of Lunar and Lunar II (Sega CD) and I liked using Alpha One in Snatcher (so in depth) on Sega CD a bunch, too.

Unrelated to the thread, but as far as Ogre Battle goes, Quest released two others of my top 10 favourite all time games, Conquest of the Crystal Palace (NES) and Magical Chase (Turbo Grafx/PC Engine). With almost a third of my top ten favourite games being made by the same company, I'm saddened to learn of their subsequent bankruptcy, hostile takeover by Squeenix and disolution.

Also, though I had a Neo Geo growing up, not being much for fighters, my system was relegated mostly to Metal Slug and its many sequels.

I'd replay Kirby Super Star more often but half of the magic of that game is playing it with a friend, and finding people who are actually competent enough to play it is difficult (seriously, the game tells you fucks how to block, why don't you use the block buttons?).

I just like the series a lot, C47 is pretty damn retro in relation to the series and overall and I've actually replayed it to death.

I don't think I have any left. Mostly because my consoles have long since either died or I've given them away to younger siblings and emulating without a proper controller is like asking to be anally devastated.

Not that a lot of my favourite games haven't become mechanical to the point of me just rushing through them without a second thought.

I'm waiting until my memory fades and I can replay them again with fresher eyes.

Non retro, but true: Journey. Been playing it over and over again to the point where I would get the white cape and then clear it on the next run.
If I had to choose a retro-only game, it'd be Donkey Kong Country. The game save won't stay so I have been playing it over and over from scratch to the end without turning it off.

Cross was primary (left side)
Same for water gun
Potion was secondary (right side)
