it's still the best second gen console. the games really have a graphical flare to them compared to the shit you could find on the 2600 or colecovision, and thanks to the vector graphics there's no shortage of amazing scaling and rotation effects. It also has a lot of homebrew support which is always a plus for old consoles. I would buy a psychedelic overlay, it makes the games look very cool

If you're that guy that plays his VCS more than any other /vr/ system I promise you that it will offer you a transcendent experience, especially if you've never or not for decades seen a vector display with your own eyes.

Typically, if I'm going to ask about something I'll have done some research on it first before I bring it to anyone else, whether I know them or not.

Personal opinion, I loved my Vectrex a lot. I had a lot of fun playing Armor Attack on it. Not to mention Berzerk is a ton of fun, and there's a lot of good games to play on it. Having shown it to a bunch of my friends, they're not into it because they don't recognize the games on it and most people think that video games prehand to the NES are all shit, but if you're actually into 1st and 2nd gen gaming, I'd say go for it.
Of course, I'm in the vast minority on this board because I still play my Atari 2600 with my best friend, and I'm also old enough to remember when that was all there was for video games.

You should get a Vectrex only if you have the money to buy one. They aren't the usual $30, like Atari 2600 are. They range from 200 to 300 dollars. The games can be expensive too.
