I am currently in Japan, and Amazon has it for 9,999 yen (about $88). I have a real NES at home but I feel like this would be a good addition, and my best chance of getting a non-fake one at a fairly good price is here.

I'm a huge faggot please rape my face /vr/

>> No.4487412

You should buy a real Famicom for $3 at a Hard Off

>> No.4487415

Why not if you've got the money? It will at least make a nice collector item if anything.
On the other hand you can buy way better retro stuff with that money, even if the Japanese market sadly isn't what it used to be.

I don't understand why anyone would even want any of these toys. They're retarded miniature replicas with SoC emulation. If that's what you want, buy a fucking RPi.

Personally, I'd rather play on real hardware with a flashcart, or if I have to emulate then a real PC on a 1440p+ 144hz monitor with black frame insertion and quality shaders.

Where? Granted, I didn't look very hard but at a used electronics store in Osaka (Nipponbashi) Famicoms were about $130 while the disk system was $60

>>4487417
"Rpi"'s are not made by Nintendo and they don't look like miniature Famicoms. And I already have real hardware (an NES), if you read the second half of my post

>>4487425
Yeah, I know. But it still seems way cheaper than buying an actual Famicom and the games. And it's cute imo

>"Rpi"'s are not made by Nintendo and they don't look like miniature Famicoms.

So? Are you buying it to play, or are you buying it as a collectible figurine made by a company that has very little to do with the Nintendo you remember from your childhood?

>And I already have real hardware (an NES), if you read the second half of my post

And? What does that have to do with anything I said?
Buy a fucking flashcart then, retard.

I was just in Japan last week and got a Sharp Twin from Super Potato (Tokyo /vr/ shop) for 140. Cheaper than the fami and the disk system combined and honestly a neater piece.

I've never been I just know from hearsay that Super Potato and all the Shibuya places have had their prices Westernized and that book stores like Hard Off (Book Off) aren't completely wrecked yet. Japanon could tell you much more specific info but judging from the prices he's photographing very little is dirt cheap period. My own current conclusion on the matter is that Nips have higher standards for condition so if you look for a yellow famicom they consider in "poor" condition you would probably consider "fair" condition since it plays and has character I guess. Likewise they will consider things "junk" (common search term for cheap Nip hardware) are actually just a little dirty by our filthy Western standards. Sometimes they actually are junk though their categories don't go any lower so it's a gamble.

>They're retarded miniature replicas with SoC emulation
adding "retarded" won't make your argument valid, sorry to tell you that. Funny, however, that this,
>emulate then a real PC on a 1440p+ 144hz monitor with black frame insertion and quality shaders.

apparently isn't, huh. The nes/famicom mini aren't your run-of-the-mill chinese knock-off SoC, as they were carefully constructed and actually perform the way they should, fully compatible with the entire library, at 1080p 60, with a couple of neat things thrown in, such as a custom interface, aspect ratio, bezels, etc.

Just because you can do similar with an emulator on your pc, doesn't mean you'll get the same performance and elements altogether. Emulators can be a pain in the ass, and it varies from pc to pc. With these "retarded miniature replicas" you get a straight outta the box fully functional gateway to play everything on the nes/famicom with the best quality you can get, with no fuss, and in a nice miniature presentation that you can plug n' play anywhere, take it anywhere.

If you can't see how that's an attractive product, then you must be playing dumb for the sake of being "above all of this".

I appreciate your frustration. At the end of the day branding actually is worth something and the mini consoles are probably worth their msrp but it's pretty glib to suggest most of our PCs couldn't run SNES emulators with no shaders accurately at full speed.

OP is in Japan though he should spend 10kyen on authentic nihon cigarette scented kata sharpied consoles and dingy 90s multicarts.

What are the prices for a junk gameboy pocket at a junkoff? or a PSP3000 that's working? a SNES? a Saturn?

Thinking of asking my friend there to pick up some stuff and ship them to me.. Would be cheaper than yahoo auctions.

This, literally useless, tiny little cords and controllers, no microphone emulation, why even bother?
I'd rather emulate on my Wii on CRT or on my PC with shaders.

>> No.4494340

>>4492163
There are videos on youtube of people pawing through reams of stuff and you can usually spot the prices. Unlike US junk stores they mark their prices very visibly. There's no right-now videos though so you can't say for sure without checking. Prices should be fairly similar to Yahoo Auctions though I would assume. Difference being there are dozens of every console right there in front of you at stores - but not if you're having a friend do it for you. The best way to take advantage is to buy stuff on Yahoo and have it shipped to your friend who starts packing it in a big box. When the box is full (or you run out of money to waste) he tapes it up and ships the whole thing to you via your preferred method.

Been there dozens of times kiddo. Any place that charges the prices you gave is a tourist trap. I have several famicoms and paid $5 max for the loose ones. Got a few CIB FC+FDS sets for $20. Why would I want to tell you where to do that when I can let you contribute to the Japanese economy by lining the pockets of resellers?
