Best platformer games that are not Mario. Any platform (especially platformers that were on home computers/PCs) is good as long as it is retro.

pic related is my favourite platformer. nice level design, tons of cool secret areas, and animation that puts almost every other 3D paltformer to shame besides Jak 1-3

also I know it's not retro, but shovel knight is really good too
