>It's still 20% off right now
How likely is it that we'll see Super FX compatibility for this thing in the near future? That would go a long way toward justifying the cost, which is still high even with the discount.

Never going to happen, you see the real mind behind this thing is Byuu! he got all the system OS in semi working condition, even add the msu1 and give it to Ikari, the fact that in the last 4 years he released nothing but cosmetic changes, bug fixes (introduced by ikari ineptitude) and msu1 corrections. It's clearly enough to tell you that ikari dosen't know shit and is not the real author behind sd2snes.
Unless byuu help this guy again, expect nothing!
btw kevtris says that the sd2snes fpga dosen't have enough free space to have fx or sa-1

So instead of making the outlandish claim, “I don’t have time,”

Start replacing the claim “I don’t have time” with the a true statement of where you spend your time.

Call yourself out. Tell yourself you’ve been making an invalid excuse.

You realize the system itself doesn't have the FX or SA1 chips right? The system only needs to interpret the signals from the cartridge that has the extra chips in them.

Maybe running those games from SD is out of the question but there's no reason to believe they can't make a 100% compatible clone system

You can also use a MicroSD Card Adapter Reader TF to Short SD For Mac MacBook Pro Air and it sits under the cutout. They are like $2-5 on auction sites.

Putting 2 and 2 together, you could put this inside an uncut cart and have a stealth sd2snes. These things work on pretty much all everdrives using a standard sd card slot. The only issue is on the adapter card you have to file or snip a tiny piece of plastic off in the groove. The piece is about the size of lead in a mechanical pencil. The only other issue is you then have to use tweezers to remove the card, but it looks much nicer than shit sticking out the top.

I love a lot of the msu hacks. The satellaview zelda games are worth the extra price alone.

In case anyone wonders what they are and are too lazy to google, it was a japan only satellaview weekly live broadcast game. Someone in japan recorded them on vhs and translators added in english to the games. Damn it's great, revisiting classic nes zelda on snes graphics with new dungeons and challenges. Every so often you are given power ups (example, enemies drop more rupees, shoot sword even without full health, etc.). It's pretty great, hearing the broadcast announcer narrate on your quest.

That's not how this works.

The cost of a FPGA is mainly determined by how many logic gates it has, and the SFX/SA1 need the most gates of any other SNES expansion chip.
Therefore, any FPGA capable of implementing the SFX/SA1 is also capable of implementing every other chip.

So I dug out my SNES after getting my Super Everdrive back from a friend I loaned it to and I realized my power supply is missing
