if so, how?

No.
They look identical and run at 240p.

It's a passthrough for Genesis.

This isn't fucking Xbox One X or PS4 Pro.

Leave.

Where does this talk about video quality

>> No.4429431

it does, but the technology limits for an older 16 bit console to do 32 bit is somewhat mild. you should be able to note the difference in youtube videos, just for example.

but, off topic, can you actually put a 32x in a 32x and then put a game in, and it will actually work??

>> No.4429445

I heard it makes composite looks better, not sure if that is true

>> No.4429449

It does, it removes "rainbow banding". Look it up.

Yes, but only because the Genesis (particularly model 1) composite video output is utter shite.

Well the 32X requires its own AC adapter, so if both units were hooked up to separate power supplies and televisions sets you could probably run two of them stacked onto a single genesis...?

Yes and no.
The 32X has its own video encoder chip.
This could possibly be better than some specific models of Genesis.

The 32x uses it's own power supply and a pass through cable that goes from the genesis to the 32x and then out to the tv with another av cable. Skipping what the cable and 32x actually do with that. If you wanted a second 32x added you'd need another pass through cable that goes from the output of the bottom 32x to the top input. At best you wouldn't get a change anything and it works, but in reality the top 32x which is reading your game cartridge can't properly communicate with the genesis and the whole train breaks down.

Weird thing

when hooked up via composite, my 32X would basically blow out the colors of Genesis carts when played on it. Tested it with various other Genesis models and variations of cables but always caused the same problems no matter what. My test game was always Castlevania Bloodlines, the title screen would be blown out to hell and back to the point it hurt to look at.

Earlier in the year I got a pair of HD Retrovision's Genesis component cables. When I used them with the 32X, it completely solved the blowing out problem. Now I only have to remove the 32X if I want to use the PBC.
