The first game I ever played was Prince of Persia on an Apple. It was, however, not that fun a game. I thought it was interesting for about 5 minutes or so. Kind of as a novelty.

First game I played that I thought was awesome was some Missile Command clone on DOS. I don't even know what it was called.

First games I owned were Tetris, Super Mario Land, and Top Gun on the Gameboy. Thought Tetris and Super Mario Land were awesome. Top Gun sucked.

I grew up playing on a PC, a 486 with 33mhz and this was my first proper game on it. All my friends had a Super Nintendo and Commander Keen was the closes thing to Super Mario at the time, I guess. I had to buy my first console myself, which was a modded PS1. Strangely I am still very nostalgic about the Super Nintendo, even though I only played through a couple of it's games on emulators in the past 10 years.

However, PC gaming was awesome back in the 90. Console gamers didn't have all those simulators, point and click adventures and strategy games. I grew up playing not only Commander Keen but also Command & Conquer, Tie Fighter and pretty much all Lucasarts games. Good times.

Diablo, mostly. I remember being 5 or 6 years old, sneaking into my parents' room when they weren't around, trying to muffle the dialup modem with a blanket so that they couldn't hear the noise while I logged onto battlenet. I didn't actually try to play the game much- I mostly just ran around with a trainered-to-infinity character blasting the shit out of everyone as a sorcerer and spamming jibberish at them.

Later, when I was older, I started trading away godly plates of the whale to people for random bullshit. Wearing a godly plate of the whale in my amulet slot, ring slots, etc. I was a godly whale fairy.

I do remember one of my few legit characters actually found a Windforce. As a Rogue. On my very first trip to hell with that character. Damn, that was awesome.
