No. His strategy would actually work. 4D chess is when you lose so often it somehow turns into winning in the future when you're nowhere around and through so much complexity that you can't actually identify any contributing thing beyond failing. It's in effect an extremely long string of poorly made bluffs that fail by looking like basic idiocy but also fail in the long term and then you win.

No one's actually ever seen a 4D chess grandmaster win yet, but they've assured us they are.
