If you consider it's success in japan and it's library there, it's a great console. It's like proto dreamcast over there. So many wacky titles and gems

In terms of it's western performance, it's not even tragic. It's just dismal. SEGA misread the market completely and PlayStation was just a better product that had quality titles launching in a steady stream.

Try checking the potentiometer and the tray height. My personal issue is the tray height, and it is a real pain to adjust.
