GCCX has gotten me into a number of games, namely Paris Dakar Rally, Layla, Atomic Runner and Yokai Dochuki. Also the whole "games by year" thing they did made me aware of a lot of cool famicom games I wouldn't have known about otherwise. GCCX is amazing.

First go to Tools > Preferences > Video and uncheck "Use hardware YUV → RGB conversions". Otherwise all the blacks will be grey and other weird color shifts.

Then to play any given episode, just right click on the episode you want to watch and Copy Link. Go to Media > Open Network Stream… in VLC and paste the URL there and hit Play. It should load right up.

Based. Easily the most underrated DreamWorks movie since it's barely even remembered by most DreamWorks fans despite being really great.
I barely hear anyone talk about it.
The animation is really great, the blending of 2D and 3D animation is really great and the fluid animation in Eris alone is amazing.
And it has really fun and exciting action sequences.
Also, it has one of the greatest DreamWorks soundtracks of all time, obviously.

I like watching Arino go to arcades and play weird games that I'll probably never have the chance to actually play. Even the prize game stuff can be pretty neat.

There are a few games that I was vaguely aware of, but never decided to play until I saw them on GCCX. Probably would have never played Solomon's Key until I saw him play it.

Also you want XySubFilter (by MadVR author) as a subtitle renderer to go with MadVR as renderer. Processes the subtitles the same way that your MadVR settings do, resulting in accurate color etc.

I find Arino's persistence in the face of difficulty inspiring and his dumb cheery grin infectious. I keep a print of him punching the air like a victory pose next to my computer. It feels like a silly and naive thing, but looking at that picture has helped me power through or put aside depression and apathy, and persevere through challenges in my life.

Can you actually call out some certain moments you think are staged or "fake", because just saying "lots of stuff is clearly fake" doesn't really give much to comment on.

If you mean something like the AD interactions at certain points then duh, of course they're set up in advance. They are following a script, it's not completely random what they do. But at what points the AD's will interject can be random because Arino ad-libs quite a lot and no one can predict how well he will fare with a game. I can guarantee you that Kibe's script won't say "Arino fails 2 hours deliberately". That's even another hook of the show, clearing a game so fast that the director won't have enough footage! (re: Ninja Spirit)

Or are you just claiming that someone cannot actually be so bad that they'd fail an hour straight at one stage? The Quest of Ki live challenge begs to differ...

If you write something and call it a translation of what was said, you can write as many posts on as many forums and blogs and websites about how poor your Japanese is and how unsure you are about your understanding of a line, nearly everyone that watches that sub is going to take that translation as the absolute 100% accurate translation of what was said.
And once your skills improve, going back to something you translated wrong, seeing it was wrong, and then finding people quoting the mistranslation and talking about it as if it was accurate is not fun. At all.

I havent watched the show in ages, i remember that someone was harassing the subber and he quit.

I just randomly checked the site and i was so happy to see new episodes were being released again, I don't know if the subber team visits here but i just wanted to thank them for doing this still. Its one of the few shows that still really make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Cant wait to see who the newer AD's are.
