I just bought an AV Famicom and the AV cable it comes with is only yellow and white (composite video and mono audio).
I noticed some people use Super NES/Nintendo 64/GameCube composite cables with yellow, white and red (composite video and stereo audio) but does it actually provide fake stereo/dual mono audio?
Or does the audio only come out of the left channel?

If so, what's better for getting dual mono out of the AV Famicom? Using an RCA mono to stereo Y splitter for the mono cable that came with my purchase, or getting a Super NES composite + stereo cable?

it only outputs mono. you will need a splitter.

Not even if I use a cable with stereo audio output?
I do know that the front-loader NES requires a splitter for dual-mono.

A splitter would be the simplest and cheapest option.

Bad choice, man. They made it so the Game Genie can't plug in.

If you use a stereo cable, it will output in dual mono. The multiout pins are tied together in the console, so it's exactly the same as using a Y splitter.
