Fucking amazing game. Just don't expect the characters you pick to create substantial plot differences outside of the very beginning and some stuff near the end-game.

It isn't a big deal because you'll want to play through all the story branches just because the gameplay is so fun.

I played it a long ass time ago, probably circa 2000. I don't remember which translation patch I used, but it was one of the best SNES games I've ever played. I highly recommend it.

Translating リース as "risz" is eotena assault tier idiocy, especially since it's a term used in connection with LEASING. Literally nobody except retard "muh nakama" fansubbers would translate it as anything but "lease", or if you want to turn that into a proper name, "Lise".

He did start his own Bahamut Lagoon translation but got bored and put it on indefinite hold.

He played with Dai Kaijyuu Monogatari and basically reverse engineered the whole game, but again got bored and abandoned it.

Then FEOEZ where he promised to do it, got everyone's hopes up and proceeded to do nothing for years.

Der Langrisser is pretty excellent though. The original game is fairly bug ridden, the only major problem left in the translation was some VRAM corruption bug they weren't able to pinpoint.

Didn't know he did DQ5. There is some story about him teasing a DQ translation that didn't exist though.

Actually, the second class change is technically "hard" because it depends on a random item drop, but I always got impatient and used gameshark codes to get the the item seeds instead

Translation is fine, it's just the gameplay, level design, writing, combat etc are all mediocre in the first place.
It has wonderful graphics and some nice music. People overrate it because muh multiplayer.
