I'm doing the same with the Q1 N64 soundtrack, also composed by the same dude. Fits like a glove with some moody map packs, like Arcane Dimensions.

This unofficial soundtrack CD for Quake 1 by Sonic Mayhem impressed id Software so much they hired him for composing Q2 and Q3's soundtracks. And that's how he became somewhat famous in the industry.

But he also considers this particular CD highly unpolished and rough and wanted to "delete it from the Internet" at some point.

No well thought out Nightmare mode, sure. But type 'skill 3' in the console and you do get a skill level harder than hard. It's prettu bullshit though, it just removes the possibility of hitstunning monsters. They will ignore your attacks until they run out of health.
