Great game, great visuals and atmosphere. Roaming around Europe and visiting historical locations getting overrun by demons was cool as shit. Only thing that I didn't like was that some parts really just felt like a glorified tech demo (Tower of Pisa stage and boss especially)

The soundtrack is fucking phenomenal though, Michiru Yamane is a genius and she got some really impressive stuff out of the hardware.

After playing better CVs, the original is bland by comparison. I didn't even mention the awful game design at parts, like how Frankenstein is a cheating little bitch or how Drac is a pushover, or the many times the game throws a dagger item your way as a trap, or the bats leading to the castle, etc. Purely a memorizer, beaten in a half hour if you memorize how to get past crappy parts, almost no skill required. Hugely overrated.

You shouldn't be getting hit much if at all on the repeat boss fights since you should already know the patterns. Elizabeth is an easy fight in both forms. Maybe the positioning of the Medusa twin fire attack can be tricky but that is it. One attack can be ducked under, the other jumped over, and the other you just keep space between you and keep hitting them. Then the second phase is just going left to right quickly before the spell is cast.

3 fucked it up somehow. I remember falling through stairs way too often in that game.
Either way I think Rondo had the perfect controls. They were still quite limiting, but loose enough so you never feel like it's unfair.
