you listed a price.

be prepared to be flooded with people claiming to have gotten all that for .25 cents in better shape.
you got ripped off.

now, anyways, RE CV, silver, shenmue, wild arms, RE 2, dino crisis, RE 3, jet grind radio, and silent hill?
damn man you just got some classic titles all in one box!! that will keep you occupied for years to come!!

play shenmue first if you havent played it yet or heard of it, its a great achievement for its time to be so detailed and open world like it is, although if you dont take a light approach to it, it may seem boring (you literally have to get a dock loader job in the game)

Disc tray error?
I tried all the other dreamcast games I got, but the only one that didn't work was shenmue's disc 1.

>> No.4373243

>>4373229
if possible give me some details as to why its not working

but the disc tray error is when you pop in a disc and it starts loading up, gives a whir, but then stops and says no disc in tray or something similar. you can tell it starts to spin but then dies off quickly. this is because the disc tray thinks its open but its not. you have to wedge a little something (anything that will fit, i think i used a small woodchip from the local park) to make the prong that closes the tray stay shut or put more pressure to be shut. my bad if im explaining this weird but i did it over a year ago and im a little fuzzy on the process.

or try putting in shenmue, and flip the console upside down. thats a temp fix for some errors.

>> No.4373256

>>4373243
Basically it'll recognize that a disc is in there, bring up the screen saying Sega, then just boot back to the main menu. I'm going to try the upside-down trick, maybe that'll work.

>> No.4373262

>>4373256
yup same thing happened to me with shenmue and my dreamcast, all my other games would work fine but shenmue would start then crash back to main menu. i did the disc tray modification and left my console upside down for a while because i was playing other things and forgot, i bought a new dreamcast because i thought it was just going to be broken but now its working fine again. really i dont know what the fuck was going on but doing those two things evened it all out.

I've picked up some that I've seen on exhentai and liked; these ones (the Cosmic Fantasy ones) I found out about by chance - they're pretty awesome because they were published by the creator of the series; aside from some original art (SFW and NSFW) there's several books with all of the storyboards and design sheets for the games.
... Unfortunately they're out of print - the one in the earlier pic I got from bugging the dude over email, the rest I've found on YAJ and Suruga-ya.

Other cool retro game doujin stuff I've found like that are these Genpei Toumaden and Bravoman fanbooks that have interviews and production materials in them.

Question - how the hell did you pay for it?

Every time I try to set it up to pay it says I can't use a foreign credit card; I tried setting the billing address differently (to my tenso account) but no dice. A friend of mine offered to help buy it for me but I don't want to bother her.

>> No.4375268

>how the hell did you pay for it?
At first I tried their actual direct international shipping, but their site was acting weird with international shipping (you're supposed to add a 2000 yen shipping 'item' but when I did that it was also tacking on an additional 3000 or so shipping resulting in a ridiculous price). After giving up on that I just went ahead and ordered it by proxy service instead of placing the order myself, so my proxy (JAA) handled payment.

>> No.4375328

>>4375268
Thanks for the help man; I'm going to try out JAA now.

It's weird because until this I haven't had any issues buying from J-sites aside from a fraud protection "freeze" and having to resubmit an order. Had the same thing happen on another (NSFW) site too. Weird.

I was thinking of trying to get a JCB card since they originated from Japan, but it would probably count as "foreign" as well.

And the answer is...no, of course not. It behaves the same way the Mega Memory does: it boots to its menu fine but just buzzes if you hit the backup button, failing to recognize the game as having battery back up. The games I have that can't be backed up are ONI (1), SaGa (1), Seiken Densetsu, and Aretha (1)

With one exception: the Monster Brain is able to backup Dragon Quest 3 save data, whereas the Mega Memory won't boot up at all with DQ3 plugged in, so I guess that's something.

Save backups aside, this thing has some mildly amusing color-related features, including the ability to force a dual-compatible game (black cartridge) to act as if it's running on a non-color Gameboy even though it's really on a GBC/GBA, letting you apply GBC/GBA start-up palette selection to it that normally only works on grey carts, such as left+B for monochrome.

That's what they did the first time around, why stop now?

Couple months ago I got a bag in a thrift shop containing ~20 psx games, 1 psx, 1 sega master system controller, 1 master system stick, everything for 12 eur. I was scared there was an error in pricing so I was in a hurry to pay for it before the owner would decide to price everything individually. Found a Soul Reaver holographic box too.

I normally dont even play/buy console but that was a deal. Now I make sure to visit them once a month, I love them because they will just write "device" on a lot of electronics and sell them for like 5 euros.

then went to the next thrift shop and they were selling individual psx games for 20 eur each, the damn thieves.

dude Dune 2000.. I have sunk so many hours into that game over the course of my life. You'll keep coming back to it I hope. What a gem. in my opinion that is better than the command and conquer series on ps1.

Grabbed the Tengai Makyou trilogy for PCE CD
I played the 4th one when it came out for Saturn and thought it was pretty good, but never went back to try the rest of the series till now
Still don't have Tengai Makyou Zero but that one needs battery replacement for the clock so I'll mess with that some other time
>more Hiromi Tsuru roles
welp
>9 of the voice actors in Tengai Makyou Ziria are dead
Jesus. I guess it's got a lot of old-people characters
