Both are great, but I'll give the edge to LucasArts simply because I prefer not to have bullshit deaths in my adventure games.

Both.

Put a gun to my head and I'll say LucasArts though.

The Special editions of Monkey Island were really nasty, especially the first one, but what I loved about them was the remastered music with real instruments.

Oh man, the first MI special edition is ugly as shit. MI2 was a huge improvement.

Remade music was great though.

This. I love LucasArts, but Gabriel Knight was amazing as well. Yes, even the third one.

What is the best Sierra adventure game?

>> No.4366974

I hear that KQVI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow is more or the less the best they have ever done.

Never having played it, I think Gabriel Knight 1 and Quest for Glory IV were some of their best. QfGIV could easily have been my favourite entry in that series if it wasn't so riddled with bugs.

How? They're all by LucasArts, or at least they had a hand in making them. Or are you memeing/baiting/trolling?

Both have their merits and I honestly think that the world is a slightly better place by having both as opposed to just one or the other.
Want something challenging (that can also be quite punishing)? Insert diskette for KQ, SQ, PQ, etc. Want something less challenging, still providing puzzles, and is a lot more forgiving? Load up Secret of Monkey Island or Grim Fandango. Neither is really better than the other, but both are good in their own right.

LucasArts my dude. Might just be an issue of growing up with them with almost no alternatives. Maybe I'd change my bad shitter taste if I played it again after so many years, but I started with Curse and still think it's pretty damn good and fun.
I've learned to dig Larry later on, though

I'm pretty sure the thread is about comparing Sierra adventure games to LucasArts adventure games. But if we want to go that route, Sierra was involved with Half-Life...

OP's pic did admittedly show their adventure games, but I wasn't gonna make that assumption, I went ahead with >LA in general vs Sierra in general

Generally I don't like dying and reloading a lot in adventure games but Sierra really knew how to kill you off in a funny way.

I don't think I've ever played any games by either company because of circumstances.

You're not making it clear if you're talking about their point and click games or their games in general.

The best LucasArts game are the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games, though the point and click games and other Star Wars games can be amazing.

Sierra's best game is Homeworld.

No way they could've topped it, though they did come pretty close with 2. It just didn't feel right without Tim Curry

Grim Fandango had horrible controls. The remake was a good thing, I don't care what people say about it.
