I picked up a copy of Rockman X today from a dude, and I'm trying to figure out what revision I've got. Looked it up, but can't find anything online about characteristics on the cart itself that would tell you what rev it is. Anyone here know? Pics incoming.

Didn't see your reply, I'm just curious. There were some bugs in the 1.0 rev that were fixed in later revs. Can't seem to find any easy way to identify which rev it is on the cart or board itself.

You want the production code on the back of the shell. An A after the two digits means v1.1, B means v1.2. No letter means v1.0.

See pic for typical placement.

Like all things it's not 100% guaranteed, but I haven't seen any cases where this wasn't correct. Obviously on a repro or donor it won't mean shit.

Thank you. I was trying to find a stamp like that earlier, but must have missed it. Looks like it says 27, no A.

I figured there was something like that, having looked it up for an Ocarina of Time cart way back whenever it was.

Looks like I've got the one with the bugs. Thanks again, was starting to think asking here was a waste of time.

In most hand-made repro/counterfeit carts, wires will litter the board as pins on a generic ROM chip have to be re-mapped properly to the edge connector to ensure the console recognizes the game and boots it. Most official carts usually don't have wires, as they were specially manufactured by Nintendo.
Obviously the SFC copy of Mega Man X must be some kinda exception.
