Really comfy game up until Gloomy Galleon. The backtracking starts to get a bit much around then.

I own both consoles too.

>Getting a little sensitive about me calling you a sonyfag aren't you?
I'm not him. I'm actually more of a Sega fan to be honest. Although I do enjoy consoles from any brand. I own a Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, SNES, N64, Gamecube, PS1, PS3, PS4, Xbox & Xbox 360

>> No.4341440

>>4341437
Yeah I have a Genesis, I like it too. Like Xbox, and 360 as well. Never had a game cube or any play station after the first one.

>> No.4341454

>>4341440
Gamecube had great exclusives. I bought Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes for it, which was really just an enhanced version of MGS1 for the PS1. I also bought Resident Evil(remake) for the Gamecube, not knowing that there would be an HD version of this game in the future. Either way it was worth the buy. I had a PS2, but I ended up selling that for the Xbox, since the Xbox would have the superior ports. PS3 and PS4 are good, but I find myself playing my retro consoles more than modern games these days.

Same. I tend to play stuff older stuff too. Not just out of nostalgia, I just like it better. I don't have any love for the xbox one or ps4, due in part to the games not being that good.
Only new games Ive played recently that I liked were remakes of 90's fps on PC (Wolfenstein, Shadow Warrior, Doom) and breath of the wild.
Nothing can compare to older games though. Super hang on, Dark Forces, Conker, etc. Love them

We need to have a thread for these. I love how it subtly alters the entire "feel" of the game just by removing one simple thing. It's even cooler that it gives away where devs were really struggling with the N64's hamstrung method of texture handling.

>> No.4341532

I really don't like this game that much. The conveyance is so irritating. I feel myself constantly asking what I should do and feeling like my options are limited but unclear.

>> No.4341540

Im suprised the game gets alot of hate these days.

While it has some back tracking, it does give you alot to do which I guess was more important in 199 than 2017

I can see where some of the hate comes from (too much of a good thing; collectables), but it really does feel overblown most times.

Like, the people most vehement seem to be either confused Mario elitists or people who despise collectathons to begin with.

I mean its not like its a game to be rushed. Unlike banjo kazooie it can take a couple days to clear a level once ya get all the kongs.

>> No.4341572

>>4341561

But see, most people who went in and were disappointed expected another Banjo-Kazooie, when really it's more like Tooie++.

>> No.4341605

Is it? I thought DK64 had more collectables than Tooie.

>> No.4341610

>>4341605
It does but how can dk64 be tooie++ when dk 64 came first? If anything tooie is a more condensed version of dk 64

or if anything, a better banjo kazooie

>> No.4341618

>>4341610

Because both were in development at roughly the same time at Rare and DK64 just happened to come out first? The analogy was not a reference to "C/C++", I'm sorry if you thought that's what I was referencing. DK64 is like Tooie on steroids: more characters, more collectables, more "abilities", more MORE MORE!

Perhaps I should have made my point clearer, i dunno.

I agree. Older games are just more appealing to me, especially on the Sega Genesis & Super Nintendo. It just reminds me of how much fun I had renting games for both systems when I was a kid. Now that I own most games that I've wanted since the time I was a kid, it makes me happy that I can play these games anytime I want on actual hardware. Although I could have easily played it on emulation, it just feels more real playing it on a console using a CRT TV.
