Those fucks give me the wrong mail at least twice a week. I even wrote my address and last name iniside the mailbox on the door. The faggot just laughed it off and said "sorry" when I confronted him about it a year ago, he still keeps doing it. I made the mistake of helping him push his mail truck free in snow two years ago and I've never made the mistake again. Every time I see him get stuck now, I keep right on blowing snow off of my driveway and ignore him calling out for help.

I wish resellers would warn in advance if they're planning on using USPS so I could cancel my order or ask for UPS.

In all seriousness, if the game arrived in the condition advertised, it seems a bit dickish to leave a negative. I'd probably just leave no feedback whatsoever. That's kinda my opinion, Yeah, obviously throwing an SNES game in some paper with no bubble or cardboard isn't ideal and ran a high risk of getting destroyed, but if it arrived undamaged, I honestly don't know what you could claim from ebay. You should try to resolve it with the seller before taking it up with ebay, but in this case, what could you argue? If the game arrived in the condition shown, then I don't know what ebay would do. A message to the seller letting them know that they did a shitty packaging job would probably be sufficient in my book, or at worst leaving a neutral feedback.

This is what people don't understand. Feedback is meant to be you know, feedback.

You have no obligation to "talk it out" with the seller. Give them a negative, justify it, and move on. If they just wrapped it in A1 paper and shipped it, I'd give them a negative too.

eBay is a big ass hugbox since everyone has 100% positive feedback. I've seen sellers get 1 negative and shut down their entire ebay store.

Been buying from eBay for over 5 years now and it's been nothing but smooth sailing. If you play by the rules, you won't get in trouble, and you won't cause trouble.

Who here /goodseller/?

>Always leave buyer feedback after payment has cleared, since the buyer has fulfilled their end of the bargain
>Always list items with free shipping, with price adjusted to assimilate the cost if the item is particularly heavy
>Always use sturdy packaging
>Don't print labels because scales are sometimes inaccurate, and the postal service might ask the buyer for additional shipping upon delivery
>Use high-def photos to illustrate item condition accurately

In all my years selling, I haven't had any incidents with returns / refunds. Whenever these claims have come up, something did seem to be amiss on my end. (e.g. Tracking info never even registering the existence of the item, so the postal service clearly lost it)

It's pretty obvious if someone is trying to scam you. If I shipped out something expensive like a game console, I would be sure to take photos of the serial number or other identifiable features in case the buyer might try to swap it for a defective piece of hardware. But that issue has yet to come up.

>Don't print labels because scales are sometimes inaccurate

As a seller, I agree with everything you said except this. I've always printed my own labels and used my own scale. It's much cheaper than the Post Office and they pick it up at my house. Round up on weight, if anything, and you'll never have a problem.

Recent experience.

>order a Dreamcast VA1 model
>comes with a controller and cables so you can hook-up and go on arrival
>listed as used
>seller says tested and working
>deeplyconcerned.jpg
>gets here when it was supposed to, test it out
>internal battery is dead
Gave him a positive review, since the item was EXACTLY as described. It plays just fine, burned games work fine, all controller ports work fine, fully 100% working. Gonna open it up and solder in a proper battery holder. I don't know how long these rechargeable batteries last, but I don't want to have to solder again next time I have to replace it.

I'm not looking to screw buyers. If shit isn't packaged right, if shit isn't as it was listed, if shit gets shipped two weeks after it was promised, then yeah, I have a beef. I'll file a complaint, I'll give neutral or negative feedback depending on how things go. All I'm asking is that the item I buy to be as described and for it to ship when you claim it to be shipped. That's it. That's all they gotta do to get positive feedback from me.

I keep having an issue when I order stuff from Japan that requires a signature upon delivery. I am at work when it gets delivered so it goes back to the post office and the carrier is supposed to leave a notice letting me know its there and for me to pick it up. Past four or five times the carrier did not leave a notice so I have no idea it has arrived and it sits at the post office for like 5 days before being returned to Japan. Last seller this happened with was a total bro and reshipped for free without requiring a signature.

Okay, there's really no excuse for most of these awful shipping practices to exist. Why? Because eBay gives $50+ worth of shipping materials FOR FREE several times per year at the sellers request. If you can't make enough profit to buy some shipping mats after getting the free stuff from eBay, selling isn't for you.

The worst is when ebay sellers list a game that needs 20 minutes of cleaning as "cleaned and tested".

If sellers weren't so insane about ratings, I'd leave a neutral rating (or negative for the really bad ones). But then I'd have to deal with them blowing up my mailbox trying to get me to change it. So instead I just don't leave ratings when I get a dirty cart. But recently they've started to harass me when I don't leave a rating.

The whole system is retarded. One fucking bad review isn't the end of the world. ebay sellers are retards.

I left a neutral rating for a "untested" SNES I bought and the power plug was literally rattling. Shit rattled like a spray can and the seller blow my shit up demanding I change it. And he had the balls to say I was lying. I had to throw that shit away when I was hoping to keep it as a backup.

You can usually tell when someone is selling something"untested" because it's a one time thing and they just found their relatives old nintendo games with no system versus the one who constantly sells "untested" electronics because they can get away with selling broken garbage that way.

I'm a top rated seller.
Rarely do free shipping, it's just a trick and it's almost always built into the cost. I know it works on people but I'd rather try to attract customers who know better. In my experience the cheap ass buyers are the worst, most likely to complain or try to run scams.

I am a meticulous packer, do same day shipping and am clear and concise about condition and description.
Those three things will get you the best ratings and happiest customers.

I use my own scale and print my own labels. I have a $15 scale that has never did me wrong in 7 years. It's much cheaper so you can pass savings on to customers and still have a little bit to apply towards shipping fee and printing/packaging costs

Every Dreamcast I've bought in the last few years has a dead battery. Since most people don't replace them, I replace them with a battery holder and insert a new battery. You're dealing with almost 20 year old game systems. Did you really think the battery was still good?

What are some tips to find retro games in excellent condition on eBay? Or better yet, does anyone have some sellers that they can recommend who take several, high quality photos of the games that they sell?

One of the biggest headaches for me on eBay is that I'm very particular about the condition of the items that I buy, and I try to get something that's as close to mint as possible, even if it means paying extra. The problem is that there are tons of scammers and shitty sellers on eBay who advertise their product as "EXCELLENT CONDITION NEAR MINT" when the game has tears in the label, mysterious shit stains, etc. That or you get sellers who think that taking one picture of the front of the cartridge is sufficient. It's just a headache to sort through all of the garbage to find games in good condition. Anyone have good tips for doing that or any sellers that they can recommend who consistently sell games in good condition?

As much as I hate to even suggest it, try ordering from gamestop. I've picked up a handful of carts when they went on sale, and they've all been in near mint condition.

They have fucked me over in the past though on a few ps2 games. Ordered a bunch when they went on sale, some shipped to me over several days, but some never showed up, and any attempts to reach customer service got no reply whatsoever.

I started selling on ebay recently, I wrap all my games in bubble wrap, then tape two pieces of cardboard on each side to secure it, then drop it in a poly mailer, seal it and wrap the excess plastic around the package and tape it so it's secure and can't shift around.
Now if only ebay would let me list more then 10 items a month, the cunts.
