Contra III
Gradius III (tons of slowdown, but the game is still a classic)
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Super Bomberman series
Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss (was popular enough to get a limited edition with rearranged stages, and Famicom and GB ports)

Just to name a few. I wasn't sure about Kirby since I think HAL may be a division of Nintendo.

It's not too hard to find good games on SNES that aren't 1st party or RPG though, the library is massive.
Is Super Famicom OK? If so, I recommend the Go Go Ackman titles, especially the 3rd one.
