I didn't know who half these guys were when this came out, not for a lack of being around when their respective games were out, I just didn't follow gaming news and only ever played games with movie or cartoon characters I recognized on the box.

Smash was such a smart marketing move that turned a lot of mario/pokemon fags into complete nintendrones.

Agreed. I always annoyed the hell out of my friends by lurking the edges of the stage and waiting for one of them to try to hop back, only to downward spin-kick them to their death.The helipad on the pokemon level works best; you can get the same affect too by spamming sword-strike.

For the record I main Samus, but at high levels/tournament levels of play there's clearly advantages certain characters have over others. Ness has a monster offense but is defensive game is so fucking bad that it doesn't matter
