Many GG games have been hacked to run on SMS. Most people use a Genesis Everdrive.

Google GG2SMS

I wish, but what would be the point? Game Gear games are meant to be played on the go.

there are rechargeable AA batteries and ac/dc adapters

other than what was suggested I remember there was a way to patch game gear roms to run on sms but you'd need a flashcart anyway

Have you guys never heard of a PSP? I'm able to play Game Gear & Game Boy games on it.

No, but you can patch GG roms to run on the Master System. You can then stick 'em on your MS or Mega Drive flash cart and play them.

They had AC adapters. The 2 and a half hours was enough for a bus ride to school and to play at lunch.
I remember having a giant zip up case that held the system and games, would take it to school.

My god, I would pay handsomely for someone to mod my Game Gear into my SMS like that. Is this person offering modding services?

Alas! I lack the electronics know how to program the clock on a microwave oven, let alone merge two independent electronic devices into one functional unit. If somebody were to foolishly gift me a soldering iron and the other necessary tools, I feel quite confident that I would have destroyed both systems before the end of the day, and quite possibly injured myself.

Honestly I'd just love to have the ability to play my GG on a TV without emulation, doesn't have to be some fancy unified amalgamation of Sega like that picture.

Nah their right. While most of the GG library are ports of SMS games they were changed ever so slightly. Different aspect ratio then what the SMS outputs & extra colors. SO it isn't a simple plug & play. Only way to make an adapter would be MAYBE on the Genesis & you'd have to do like Nintendo did with the Super Game Boy where you literally shove the entire console into the adapter & the console just powers it & outputs the video.

The McWill LCD mod for the GG has the option to add VGA out to the GG. VGA then can easily be adapter to just about anything so youd be set there.

Mega Game Gear would be pretty cool, could probs try that with some chinese Game Gear on a chip to test it out. I lack the skills required to do it but it would be pretty neat. Now all they have to do to make it a true Sega add-on is make it require its own power cord and be compatible with the Sega 32X and Sega CD, and let the Homebrew community make a game that requires that full setup.
