I reached kefka's tower once with my whole team and realized it was one of those dungeons that required you to toggle between three parties
I said I'd finish it later but never did

chrono trigger rules though
and I liked FFIV better as well

But I'm 33, and I hate both of these games. Both are truly overrated.

I don't use YouTube for anything, much less commentated playthroughs. The only time I ever watch other people play games is when I feel compelled to watch a TAS or single-segment speedrun.

I'm 29 and while hate is a strong word I never liked those games, they're fine for people who never touched a RPG in their life, but that's about it.
They're woefully inadequate for people with even a tiny bit of experience in the genre, and even for their time and platform they're archaic and overall subpar experiences gameplay wise, but as always the power of brand recognition and marketing makes miracles.

The holy trifecta of SNES RPGs is FFV, Live-A-Live and Romancing SaGa. CT and FFVI get a lot of weird undeserved hate lately, but they're not the best either.

Splitting the party is what killed VI for me. It's the only mainline FF game before 11 that I still haven't truly beaten, though I've replayed it numerous times. Kefka's Tower is the bane of my existence. Such a terrible and unnecessary mechanic.
