King of the Monsters 2. The arcade version was a trap with a completely random grappling system despite all the button prompts telling you otherwise, and it was changed in the home versions.

Gradius 3
Samurai Shodown for genesis
Super Smash TV

Super Darius and Super Darius II for PC Engine CD.
Both were essentially the completed versions of each game (complete with all the originally planned bosses and levels) whereas the arcade versions were 85% of what they had planned.
Sadly, they're not widescreen, but given the resolution of NTSC television, that's probably a good thing.

Genesis Street Fighter II was better than the first SNES Street Fighter II,
but it's neither better or worse than the SNES SFII Turbo.

>>4293890
Pretty sure super Darius 2 is more of a remix, most of the bosses are completely different. The sprites are also low resolution and unlike super Darius, the screen size is a big issue

Super Darius added bosses from Darius 2, then Darius plus was a hucard version with a couple less bosses than on cd

Renegade was an average arcade game, but a classic home computer game. Could just be them having lower standards, though.

Bloody Wolf (PCE)- adds a second campaign
Mercs (genesis)- adds a second campaign
1943 Kai (pce)- adds a significantly better second campaign
Marvel Land (genesis)- adds many extra levels
Gradius 1 and 2 (pce)- both have an extra level, arcade perfect
R-type (pce)- adds an extra boss, excellent graphics though flicker is annoying
Side Arms special (pce)- adds an extra mode with new bosses
Rainbow Islands (pce)- arcade perfect, you can also save your game and go back to get the secret items from previous worlds
Rolling Thunder 2 (genesis)-3 extra levels

I'll always have a soft spot for Legendary Wings on NES. I managed to snag a complete in box copy at a hole-in-the-wall game store for $20.

Came here specifically to mention Smash TV. They toned down the gore a bit but other than that it's a fantastic port that I think even sounds better than the arcade game.

lmfao is this a joke? it's a fucking disgrace on snes in constant slowdown because the hardwares so wank and it's barely a port given how much they changed.
>>4293583
>>capcom beatemups except final fight
So many people claim knights of the round is a great port but having played it side by side with the cps1 original i can't believe how bad it is.

>> No.4298285

>>4297739
I cut Gradius a lot of slack because it was a launch title, it was straight up amazing at the time. It didn't stick around in arcades long where I lived either.

Anyway the arcade version had crazy slowdown too, I don't remember the SNES version being much worse unless you picked ripple or the blob lasers. The real shit is that you lost every single powerup when you died.

>Anyway the arcade version had crazy slowdown too, I don't remember the SNES version being much worse
It's miles worse, the arcade is at least smooth with slowdown and challenging whilst snes is wayyy to easy and cut a bunch of stuff for the shit hardware.

>>4298285
>The real shit is that you lost every single powerup when you died.
As it should be in gradius, recoveries are part of the skill but that said if you're dying ever in the snes first loop on defaults or even hard you're a complete fucking mouthbreather.

-balance changes for the returning 8
-released on Genesis
-insanely popular in china(this was the last iteration they got)

>SF2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting
-12 characters
-4 bosses have more diverse normals
-original 8 all get a new move(dhalsim can teleport, ken/ryu can tatsu in the air, etc...)
-game is fuck faster
-more balance changes
-characters now have multiple color palettes
-released on SNES
-insanely popular in the US

>Super SF2: The New Challengers
-16 characters
-4 new characters
-balance changes
-game is slowed down
-graphically updated some sprites
-released on both SNES & Genesis

-game is faster, but not as fast as 'Hyper Fighting'

-"Old" characters have no supers and cant tech throws
-released on the 3DO

It's shit. They fucked up the colors, the resolution is tiny (256x192 compared to the arcades 384x224), the audio quality is significantly downsampled, and it's missing about half the frames of animation.
Turbo is a better port than super.
>capcom beatemups
Those are mediocre m8. Fire up mame some time and actually compare them.
