I moved recently and all I have is a Nintendo DS.

What were the best older games that were ported to GBA/DS?

I own Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country 2. I also bought a game called Xevious, which ended up being lame. Dunno why they chose that game to port to GBA lol.

Chrono Trigger
Super Mario 64 DS
Dragon Quest IV-VI
Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land
Gunstar Super Heroes (more of a "re-imagining" type sequel that uses the same concepts differently)

One game I definitely can't recommend is Sonic Classic Collection, had some pretty annoying performance issues when I played it.

It is lame when it retailed for $19.99 on release. The whole Classic NES Series was overpriced crap. Half of the games were free to be transferred to your GBA through Animal Crossing or with E-Reader cards. I'm surprised it sold enough to be worth it to push out at least 12 of them into US retail.

This. Adds a brand new world that was not in the original as well. Same goes for Yoshi's Island with brand new content.
