How much would you pay for Pokemon Yellow (that saves) and pic related?

Well I mean you can make any old pokemon game save if you know how to swap batteries which there are numerous tutorials on youtube but I'd say maybe $200-$250.

Honestly you got ripped off pretty hard. I wouldn't pay more than $50. Since the GBC itself loose is around $15 and so is a loose Pokemon Yellow.

I got mine a few years back, when I was working at amom and pop video game store.

With my employee discount it was $15.

Not a big Pokemon fan anymore. There are much more in-depth monster collecting RPGs. But the 1st and 2nd Gen will always have a special place in my heart.

$20 tops.
I can grab a GBC in shitty condition and fix it up for around that, and even fit it with a glass lens. Plus, even if I didn't already have Pokemon Yellow, the save battery is stupid easy to replace so you can get a "broken" copy and fix it for close to nothing.

Paying more for a different colored case is dumb, and I always thought that one was ugly anyway. The Gold/Silver special edition is far superior, but the paint scratches really easily.

No I was wrong stay at home, inside and keep playing that shit. I haven't seen one of you Pokemon Go faggots swarming around midtown during rush hour or crowding Central Park when I go for a jog in the afternoon in 6 months. I would buy GBC at flea markets for like $10 then sell them on ebay for $50 and thats just the normal ones.

The pokemon ones are worth more, I sold the gold pikachu one for $90

But now the chinks make fakes of the rare shells, so you dont really know if you are buying a legit one.

>ITT: people can't replace a CR battery

It's really not that difficult. You don't even have to solder them. All you need is a security bit to open the cartridge, a replacement battery, a pair of pliers and some masking tape. You're looking at maybe <$10 for this entire setup.

>Security bit from eBay = $5(?)
>Dime-store CR2016 batteries = $1 (likely for a 2-pack)
>Dime-store pliers = $1
>Dime-store masking tape = $1

The original battery is attached to two tabs. Pry off the top tab carefully, without actually ripping the tab itself off its solder point. There are two points on each tab where the battery is attached. For the lower tab, just pry the battery off the first point, then simply twist the battery to remove it from the second. You've successfully preserved the tabs.

Now place some masking tape under the bottom tab with the sticky side facing up. Place the battery on the bottom tab with the (+) end touching the tab. Fold some of the masking tape over the side of the battery to help keep it in place. Bend down the top tab to cover the (-) end, then attach one last piece of tape before closing the cartridge. Both the tape and the cartridge will keep the battery in place. Future battery swaps will be a simple matter of sliding a new battery in and attaching a couple of pieces of fresh tape.

Notes and warnings: Try not to scratch the PCB (the circuit board) while prying the battery out. Although it won't actually harm anything, it can still make the PCB look unsightly.

CR2016 is most likely the type of battery used by your cart. But if you can actually fit a CR2025 or CR2032, then go for it. They'll last much longer. 2025 and 2032 are strongly preferred for Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal carts, as they seem to eat through batteries much faster. There's no voltage difference between the CR types - they're all interchangeable. Higher numbers just mean more battery life.
