I played through Soul Reaver on the PC recently and went back to Blood Omen. Man these games were really something, especially the writing and voice acting (especially for the first game holy shit man I just sat for 3 hours one night just listening to FMVs and kain describe shit). Too bad it kind of sucked with Soul Reaver 2/Blood Omen 2 but they made a turn around with the last one. The one thing I don't get is how the fuck did they release that PC game with so many glitches both for video, sound and control. Seriously, did someone just say fuck it were outta time lets just get this shit out there or what?

Dreamcast has a noisy cooling fan unlike PSX.

The DC fan is about as loud as the Xbox but it has a more annoying pitch.

The Dreamcast disc drive is also much louder than the PSX one.

What's the best way to play the original Blood Omen and Soul Reaver? I have both for PSX and PC, but I don't know if one's got more stuff than the other or is just better polished.

I'm thinking I'm going to marathon the series over the next couple of months, I haven't played them in a decade and even then I never did it in order, so I'm missing a lot of details (Beyond the fact that Tony Jay still sends shivers down my spine.).

IIRC there was a patchto run original BO on modern PC.
PSX version has half the resolution so you have to either zoom in to see things in full detail or zoom out to actually play and see things much blockier than they should've been. Maybe in emulators you can sidestep the issue by increasing internal resolution, but Im not sure.
