I want to play through these and I wonder which versions to get dick cheese
does CD have better music or worse

>> No.4279784

That's subjective, but I would say regardless of overall quality the Genesis version has music that more correctly fits the games atmosphere.

Both are good. I would play CD version for extra levels though.

>> No.4279794

The CD has fantastic ambient tracks, but the genesis version is more fitting the game's atmosphere. You really can't go wrong with either.

>> No.4279803

I listened to the CD music on yutube and it sounds like Defender of the Future, is it the same composer? This is some hard core relaxing shit

Cart.
Cart Tides is the absolute best, no constest.
And Tides is the overall better game.

>> No.4280071

I would CD the first game for extra levels.
Cart for second game.

>> No.4281073

I like Genesis music more.
CD as others mentioned has few more levels.

>> No.4281504

The CD music while great fails to properly convey the feeling of the level you're playing.

The cartridge game makes you feel like you're all alone, or out of your own time, or that creepy alien vibe, or eventually.. being a winner.

CD music is just relaxing over and over, even when you won the game its just relaxing again.
while the cartridge gives you this huge YOU FUCKING DID IT!!!! YOU SAVED EVERYONE!!! feel.

CD is like "okay.. now stretch those legs and.. breathe out."

But yeah, CD has extra levels. though is that really important when there's so fucking many of them already?

You are playing one of the horreriest games on the market. I found ecco scarier than silent hill2. Mostly defender of the future. But might be just my type of horror.

You have to save a creature that is missing a piece of itself in the present. To do this you go back in time to when it was complete and steal a piece to bring to the future. At least I think that was the story in one of the games.

Well storywise its kinda like silent hill, as it starts like something you think it is, and till the end the whole time scream "wtf, this is not what I asked for!!!" and then you the fucking shit!

Gameplaywise its basicly a game about getting suprised by new ways to get scared and how to not die.

Overall its for a certain audience that is scared of the deep waters and weird unknown (living) things and discovery. Highly recomment it to people who like to see something different and enjoy getting stopped by fear.

Best is to watch someone with fear of deep water play through blind, especially the dreamcast version :) Good game.

At the start you're frolicking with your family in the ocean when they and all the other life around you gets sucked up in a big vortex. So you go on a quest to figure out what happened and it gets dank. Also doesn't totally make sense, but the game is still awesome if you like exploring and puzzles and aren't afraid of drowning. You will drown a lot and they made it unpleasant.

>> No.4291745

>>4289725
not really. The problem with all palythroughs I have seen is that they already know everything and thus dont show/miss some things. For example in one stage you are in a huge glass tank in the middle of the ocean. And when you swim to the surface and jump into the air you see through the glass in the far distance other tanks peeking out of the water which gives it a morbid but impressive atmosphere :O THen there are some horrible death traps, people avoid who played through before.

If there are good playthroughs I would love to know too.
