So, I have a Snes but only Donkey Kong Country and The Tick, and the second hand market is absurd.
What flashcarts do you guys use?

I use an SD2SNES, but you can easily get by with the Super Everdrive (watch out for the 'China Version' bootleg, I've heard it works okay but if you try to update the firmware it will brick it). The SD2SNES is quite a bit more expensive and can only play a few more games than the Super Everdrive so it's up to you whether the extra expense is worth it.

>inb4 neither are worth it because they can't do SuperFX games.

tfw I still have my childhood copies of yoshis island and star fox

I love the SD2SNES. Very impressive flash cart.

At least SNES Classic is just around the corner

i use snes power pak for the last 5 years, still works perfect with the new firmware, got a sd to cf also works fine. Its faster than snes everdrive and cheaper the sd 2 snes which has not lived up to the original promise of having fx chip implemented and it never will.

$40 Chinese Super Everdrive is fine, it loads all the same games as one with later firmware I don't really understand why anyone even wants to update them.

According to this chart everdrive has more memory bits and computer cycles. Do the math.

Don't they sell compilation catridges on ebay or amazon that have like hundreds of games on them?

The Cirka S91 is supposed to be a good quality clone but you could always just get new replacement rubbers for inside your old pads.

I don't. I just play imports. Putting together a collection of imports is still cheaper than an overpriced Flash cart.

It's not only that imports are cheaper, but they're not censored. There was so much bullshit censorship and arbitrary localization changes during the fourth generation.

And this is true. Preemptively attacking anyone who brings up this fact is not a valid counter-argument.

You're going to end up investing in some very expensive games that aren't supported by your Flash cart, in addition to paying for a very expensive Flash cart as well. At that point, you might as well consider emulation or learn to appreciate the affordability of imports.

I've never done anything like that is it pretty easy?
I appreciate the suggestion,

Just because it doesn't support a small number of games doesn't mean it's not worth it for the HUNDREDS of games it does support. It still costs far less than it would to buy all the great games that command higher prices like Demon's Crest, Mega Man X2, X3, 7 etc so crying about the games it doesn't support is stupid. Who cares if it can't play Star Fox or Yoshi's Island, those games aren't expensive to buy anyway.

Very easy. Just be careful not to lose the pins that hold the L and R buttons in place when you open up the controller.

Indeed it does, because those games are quite essential.

I'm getting a sd2snes this Friday. I'm not too poorfag so the cost difference is worth it for more compatibility. Of the non playable, only 15 look to be worth fucking with so I'll buy the ones I don't already have.

i'd pay less for a flash cart with the games i'd want that are supported than the actual carts, while saving space. if it's too expensive to buy the "very expensive" games not supported, i won't buy it. it's almost like i can pick and choose what to buy, but apparently that concept can't be gathered by you, only told to you directly. considering your ability to think, i'd say my tax dollars are more than likely supporting your NEET lifestyle.
