>shops aren't fucking pointless and actually sell things that are difficult to find in the environment
>lots of sidequests, minigames, secrets and additional content
>games can be linked together for increased replayability, content and pseduo-multiplayer

Oracle of Seasons and Ages collectively are the best 2D Zelda game ever made.

I only played seasons because it suited my tastes better being combat centric. I enjoyed it, but LA remained more memorable to me.

Agreed, Subrosia is a comfy place and Subrosians were a really interesting subspecies for a Zelda game. Some welcome variation from the usual Gorons and Zoras. Although I have to admit I really enjoyed the one and only 8-bit rendition we got to see of those two.

I remember squinting at the GBC screen under good lighting, trying to redraw the Subrosian sprites in MS paint.
