Harvest Moon. There's much better sequels nowadays but the original SNES version is still my favorite.

I was chronically addicted to the first Diablo & Dungeon Keeper for a very long time

Somehow the sequels failed to garner a similar crack-like feeling from me

Honestly ends up being a pretty simple numbers game. If you get ahead early, you will likely win. Still very satisfying, good music to boot

It's a simpler Yugioh, but in the NGPC versions the simplicity adds to the fun. The DS version is just a straight up shittier Yugioh.

Your player character both have health points and the goal is to bring the opponents' to zero: 2000 if casual play, 3000 if tournament play. On the field is three slots where your character cards are put on play, each cards have their own HP and that is how you attack and defend against attacks. When you have no cards on field to play to defend, your opponent can attack player character's HP. Cards are stacked up to three times to add HP to the face card, but the list of cards are limited and it adds to the risk of using up your deck faster. Then there's the ability cards that flex those rules a little, but that is the jist of it.

>>4218523
shame that it doesn't work on actual hardware.

>>4217229
S rank cards show up once every 3-5 hours unless at postgame where they require fuckton of common cards to trade, I can relate to the pain.

Replaying them is essential to fully enjoy the scenarios and also trying out different units and strategies.
And yeah it's very time-consuming.

You can just start with the first one.
The first three games are all translated.

>> No.4219764

>>4219753
I'd recommend playing any of the English-language SRW titles to start with. That'll let you learn how the gameplay works. You options are Alpha Gaiden on PSX, 3 on SNES, and Original Generations 1 & 2 and J all on GBA. After that you can just branch out to whichever ones have units that look cool to you. With the exception of a few subsystems here and there, they pretty much play the same, and the later games are all pretty easy too.

>> No.4219783

>>4219764
Oh, forgot to mention, use the Akurasu Wiki to look up info about what series are in a game, what unlockables, subsystems, etc.

>> No.4220704

Tetris
NBA Jam
Contra III
Tecmo Super Bowl
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario World
Street Fighter II (all versions)
Wolfenstein 3-D

These are all based on when I first played these games. Every one of them instantly made me want to keep playing them.

If I went by which are the most "addicting" to me now, I'd probably have to say... I guess any of the Fire Pro Wrestling games, but I don't really get that "MUST. PLAY. ONE. MORE. GAME." feeling anymore like I did when I was a kid.
