>perfect graphics and art style
>impressive music given GBC limitations
>follows the classic Zelda formula, but introduces enough new mechanics to have its own identity
>linear story progression, but the worlds quickly open up and are densely-packed with secrets and places to explore
>rings, gasha seeds, potions etc. are actually useful and give you incentive to explore, unlike the useless rupees you are rewarded with in almost every other Zelda game
>speaking of rupees, you actually have things to spend them on: minigames, shops that sell useful things, gambling, etc.
>rings are the best collectible in the series and add some customization to the gameplay, some of the rings with negative effects even let you make the game harder if you choose
>dungeons are perfectly paced and don't drag on, but can provide a challenge at times
>great boss fights, some of the more imaginative ones in the series
>items are heavily utilized in both dungeons and the overworld, and no item feels wasted
>brimming with dozens of hours of content
>the ability to link the games extends the content considerably, and creates something of a pseudo-multiplayer feature.

Collectively, Oracle of Seasons and Ages are the best Zelda game that's ever been made. The only criticisms I ever hear of these games are retarded nitpicks like "some of the rings were useless" or "only two buttons". The fact is, the Oracle games do everything that the other Zelda games do, but better. They are bigger, more feature-rich, have better combat and are all-around just better in almost every way.

We have this thread every single fucking day

But you're right so I'll give you a pass

I'll take an Oracle thread over shit about DOOM wads and Amigas any day.

Shitty games. Nintendo's Zelda team was at their peak in this era, these are just cheap imitations.

seasons is ok, ages is shit

>> No.4216673

I would say someone should attempt to make a full new game with the same engine and similar content.

You could have just said, "I never played the games, I have no argument, and I'm a faggot"

...nope. The Oracles were much better official romhack sequels, and WW had so much ocean, but so little content.

I'm just going to say that while it's a nitpick, it would definitely help to have a better system to switch weapons. This doesn't necessarily make the game bad by any means, but I'm willing to bet there would be a better solution.

And yeah, some rings were actually useless. It wasn't rewarding enough to collect them all, but that is true.

Personally I don't mind the item switching. Switching between roc's feather and the bracelet could get a little tiresome but it was never frequent enough to really piss me off. Being limited to two items makes you think more strategically, whereas having access to too many items strips the gameplay of variety.
>And yeah, some rings were actually useless. It wasn't rewarding enough to collect them all, but that is true
Yeah but this is a retarded complaint. Even if every ring did nothing, then it wouldn't be any worse than a regular Zelda game. More than half of the 64 rings in the game (more like 50) are actually useful and let you do cool things, so to complain about this when other games don't give you ANYTHING of the sort is just stupid. Also, the only real "useless" rings are the ones you got as trophies, like when Vasu gives you the slayer's ring for killing 1000 enemies. Most others have useful applications.

Opinion discarded. Maybe if you hadn't spent so much time playing shitty 80s gaming computers your country wouldn't be getting raped by muslims. I'm sure Abdul will love playing Amiga and Commodore games with you.

Oraclefags were a mistake.

What's your favorite way of playing these games?

On a gameboy color? Advance? On a 3DS with the VC titles? Emulators?

>> No.4217412

In Japanese, their titles were Nut and Fruit...of the Mysterious Tree.
For some reason I get the feeling that, if these were the English titles, they would have been a lot more forgettable.
