People on /vr/ actually play video games unlike the faggots at /v/, right? Seriously why not attempt to beat one of those old games you never could despite trying this weekend?

Let's fucking do this and use this thread as a place to discuss our attempts and to give each other tips and encouragement.

Anyway I don't know about you guys but I am going to boot up Section Z on NES and give a go at finally beating it.

I should play some SaGa or Vagrant Story because I just downloaded them yet never started them.

Because I only play on emulator now and I have no controller which makes everything very hard and I don't know if any controller I'll buy will work on my system ugh

A lot of people come here just to defend their childhood against other's childhoods.
There's a lot of people who didn't grow up with the most popular systems, and you can tell they're bitter as fuck as adults.
They use /vr/ to vent about their frustrations in life, in the form of console wars from 30 years ago.

in the last 3 weeks I managed to finally beat FF6, Mother 3 and Chrono Trigger, I had some savefiles sitting around for at least 6 years and I even had to restart FF6 a couple of times in the past because I had actually lost those saves a couple of times

right now Im considering starting AQ3 and FFV

I think it's more that they just don't want to emulate, for whatever reason (Afraid of it being illegal, don't know where to get games, just too fucking dumb to setup an emulator). So their nostalgic memories are all they have going for them.

It's the same reason you see so much e-celeb shit here, it's the only way they know how to experience retro games nowadays.

I can't for the life of me start from old savefiles in most RPGs, especially Final Fantasy.

If I'm not playing the game, it's probably for months at a time and I've already forgotten the plot.

I remember in Nintendo Power when Earthbound was coming out they had part of an interview with Itoi. He said he loved RPGs because you could save and continue them months later. Even as a kid I thought he was out of his mind because who can even remember what was happening months down the road.

Playing Breath of Fire 4 right now. Really digging it so far, interesting world and the magic combo stuff is really satisfying to use. Gonna look into a few more PS1 RPGs after it, never really got the chance to back in the day aside from the FF titles.

I just pulled an all-nighter after getting most of my shit packed and I have completed Humans. Game is definitely long, and hard in some areas, I'll admit, as a teen, I wouldn't have had any problem, but being older and sleep deprived, it gave me some trouble. Still, I have my senses about me somewhat, I didn't bother looking up any walk through or guide, so at least I did it on my own.

I'm going to bed now.

Just recently finished Digimon - Digital Card Battle. That's the only game i played in the series, still beat it like 4 times. Overall great game but fire element is a bit too good. Maybe i should try out another one in Digimon series, like digimon world, idk. Back in the days i enjoed first couple of anime seasons too.

Finally managed to defeat all of Starcraft a week ago.

previously I managed to defeat all levels save the one Zerg mission where you have to kill the Overmind with Dark Templars, I always had my dad defeat that level. The last two levels are a joke in comparison.
