Soldier Blade, Bonk's Revenge, Air Zonk, Gekisha Boy, Bloody Wolf, Magical Chase, Valkyrie no Densetsu, Puzzle Boy, Ninja Spirit. No japanese required for the most part. Not as familiar with the CD library since I never got around to getting a Duo, but hopefully will eventually

Dragon Knight 2. It was the first officially licensed eroge so they didn't really know how to handle things. It has some voice acting but a lot of stuff is cut out without replacement.
Dragon Knight 3 is also a bit hard to recommend since it's practically a different game.
Dragon Knight 1 however, which was released after 2 and 3, is a good port that greatly improved on the original. Plus it didn't have a whole lot that needed to get censored to begin with.

Bonk Trilogy (HuCard), Schbibinman 3 (CD), Bomberman '94 (HuCard), Double Dragon II (CD), Mad Stalker (CD), Neutopia 1 & 2 (HuCard, Zelda-like), Bloody Wolf (HuCard). There's fucktons of shmups if you dig this genre (Lords of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, Star Soldier series, Zonk, etc).

If you speak japanese, there's loads of JRPGs and adventure games too.

Sadly, some games has gotten so expensive on the PC-Engine that I do have to resort to playing it on PSP (I still have to get a Wii or Wii-U someday). Rondo is one of those games.

However, there are lots of PC-Engine games which justified my purchase of the system back in the day. I am glad to have kept mine, but I am currently stressed to find a respectable modder for it (and building up the financial capital to have said modder to work on the system). Know that it is not cheap to have the system these days.

There is a guy who makes reproduction PC engne games and its worth it if you don't want to buy ultra expensive originals. PCE works. I commend his work because the quality of them is so damn good. Sapphire original costs arm and leg while a near perfect repo costs 50 bucks

Go for a duo, OP. If you're going for Rondo then you're gonna need CD comparability, and hunting down a working super CD-ROM2 unit plus coregrafx is gonna be cheaper than a Japanese duo but I hear those CD units aren't as reliable. Just be aware with the duo you're likely gonna need to recap the board if it hasn't been already.

I am looking for some trusted modders to do a recap job (and RGB mods). Everyone's busy with other projects so I am SOL with dying PC-Engine consoles. I cannot do it myself due to shaky hands, and lack of tools/expertise. I was told to try anyway even with my condition, but these will be my first boards to practice on and I just cannot risk them and I'd rather not have the risk of destroying them due to my inexperience and lack of knowledge.

Wii mode on the Wii U has access to the full Wii eShop. No idea how long Nintendo is going to maintain that shop though, Wii mode on the Wii U can also be modded almost as easily as a regular Wii so you could emulate it in Wii Mednafen if you wanted.
