What kind of sexist bullshit is this?

The kind that the developers intended

Doesn't the girl mode being more like an RPG kinda implies that girls are smarter?

Dunno if smarter, but different kind of approach.
There's empiric studies made that say men prefer action-oriented games, and women prefer more passive games, like puzzle, interactive, social.

Of course this is just in general, a lot of people like both kind of games.

The megadrive version of sailor moon bet'em up has 1 more enemy on screen.

Sales figures speak for themselves. Traditionally, women have tended to prefer RPG's, Sims-style games (like The Sims, Animal Crossing, etc.), and Tetris-style puzzlers.

Wait, the boy mode removes some of the RPG elements? I thought the only thing it changed was how much damage you take.

It's a difficulty select screen, and the options are "Boy" and "Girl."

that's the one I grew up with, but the SNES game has an extra level or two.
Anyway best 16-bit Sailor Moon game (and possibly best SM game period) is Another Story. But the beat em ups are fun too, I have a lot of nostalgia for the MD game. I just wish it had co-op.

The kind of bullshit where back in the 90s girls thought games were too complicated for them to understand or they didn't even care about them at all.
Don't act like that's a lie because it has only changed in the past 10 to 15 years or so. I'm glad it did, but don't act as if "girls always played games" because it's bullshit.

>> No.4141108

>>4141083
Yeah but like, when the games themselves are pushing a narrative of "girls are bad at games" it kind of becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, wouldn't you think?

Stop bringing your usual SJW drama, guy.
As other anon pointed out, "girl mode" has RPG elements, that's it. It doesn't mean "girls are bad at games".

First worlders and their problems, I swear.
If you care about feminism, go help the women who are abused in Africa by nomad tribes or something.

Can't blame them. I don't like The Sims but the rest of those are good stuff.

There's no drama here. I just thought the difficulty selection was kind of funny and thought I'd share it. I don't actually care if some Japanese game dev from the 90's thinks I'm bad at games.

>don't act as if "girls always played games" because it's bullshit.
King's Quest (1980) had a female lead designer. Women have always been an important part of the game industry. #TMYK

I played it once and couldn't get into it. Animal Crossing is the best game of its kind.

Like I said, I'm glad that changed. Now there are no excuses. Back then girls saying "It's too hard I can't do it / don't care about it" was so normal that they actually tried to make it so that girls would get into vidya.

>>4141149
I never said women were not in the industry, what I said is that girls were not interested in playing the games, don't twist my words you pretentious fuck.

The SuperS fighting game on SFC is great.
