Majora's Mask improved on it in every way. Quality over quantity dungeon designs, the variety of gameplay with the masks, and all the memorable side-quests it has while OoT only had 1 good one.

I think it's an utterly fantastic game, but I can understand why someone would not like it. There is no videogame anyone should feel obligated to like, even if it's one of my favorites.

I think it's great. For a couple years after I first played it (I was 11 at the time) I considered it my favorite game ever.

As the years went on though, each time I replayed it it lost some of its luster. Particularly in term's of the game's sense of scope. What seemed like a massive, sprawling world when I was a kid didn't seem so massive on repeat visits. The dungeons and bosses didn't seem as threatening anymore. And so forth.

My opinions on Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have completely reversed, and I now consider Majora's Mask to be Nintendo's true masterpiece. MM's greater focus on atmosphere has caused it to hold up better.

I will NEVER understand why so many people adore LttP, to the point of putting it above OoT and MM. I think LttP is a decent game in its own right, but that's about it. OoT is miles above it. And the order I first played the Zelda games in was LA > MM > Seasons > Ages > OoT > LttP, so it's not like I just grew up with the 3D games and never learned to appreciate 2D Zelda or something.
