>blowing up doesn't actually do anything, the most important thing is to re-insert the cart again because the problem is that the pins didn't match perfectly with the cart, it has nothing to do with dust or dirty
>pull cart out then back on the slot without blowing
>doesn't work
>repeat several times
>still doesn't work
>fuck it, I blow it just in case
>put it back in
>it works now

I don't know what it is, it's not scientifically proved, but blowing somehow works.

Tfw i can hear the classic FFSHHWHWH sound of blowing into an n64 cart clear as day in my head
Taking this shit to my fucking grave

>> No.4115750

I find with all of the old SNES cartridges that are thicker (Castlevania 4, Super Mario World, etc.) you have to do this half the time.
Don't think I've ever had to blow in the thinner cartridges.

>> No.4115758

>>4115640
You can just pop the cartridge out and pop it back in getting the same results. blowing is a meme that damages the connectors over time. It's the connectors not making contact with the cartridge slot. You just need to reseat the cart.

What's even worse now is when companies have the ability to patch games, but release them in a broken state and never patch them. It's like the worst of both worlds.

Which really sucks when you're on a flight with friends and your versions don't match up, so you can't play.
