PC, pretty much. REmake on GC is good but really is different and would give you wrong expectations. RE2 on Dreamcast is pretty great and just werks unlike PC versions but if you get them set up right you'll have the best truest experience with the PC versions.

There is nothing wrong with it, as long as you play with the original 4/3 aspect ratio and with the original controls.

The new controls are a cheat. They allow moves you're not supposed to do and make dodging easier, here for example, baiting a zombie with the new controls, versus baiting a zombie like it should be. Notice how much easier it becomes, and that's just an example

https://youtu.be/Xl1yrt4Scec

These kind of new "features" brought to old games are cheats under the "feature" names, like in the new PC versions of FF7/8/9 that allow you to have max stats, max money, and which they just call "features". Same shit here.

You're right. Every game should play the same.

Also we should add double jump to mario, the as well the ability to slide and charge his fire balls just because Mega Man can, and if you like prefer the original then it's just artificial difficulty.

also in RE4 we should let leon move while aiming, and also strafe, because that's how Call of Duty plays and if you prefer the original RE4 controls it's just you like artificial difficulty.
Maybe that's a better analogy you can understand.

It's literally a cheat included in the menu options. The original zombie movement wasn't balanced around you being able to move like that and it thus makes the game much easier. Don't play the HD remasters of REmake, they suck - the "remastered" backgrounds look terrible and clash horribly with the high-res character models, and they have generally spoiled the look of the game by jacking up the color saturation and contrast.

I'm playing Resident Evil 3 right now. Initial reaction is that it feels so meh compared to REmake. REmake is just a ridiculously incredible game, probably the best atmosphere I've ever experienced in a video game by far. I think REmake and 4 are the best Resident Evils - probably with REmake just edging it out - but for very different reasons of course. REmake is survival horror king and RE4 is just a very fun action game and Ashley's alternative costume is fantastic.

I hope RE3 gets better the more I play it. Atmosphere wise it's got absolutely nothing on REmake. REmake is the greatest video game remake ever made, I wish we had more remakes that were on its level of quality.

The funniest thing about this tank control "issue" is that it was largely absent when RE4 was released. You rarely ever see people complain about the controls of RE4 even though it uses the exact same tank controls.

So this means that tank controls wasn't ever the issue. It was tank controls combined with the fixed perspective of the older games that the casuals just couldn't comprehend. Which makes them a special kind of retarded for having such difficulty with these games.

What a shitty hipster opinion. RE on Saturn is objectively worse than Playstation.

RE on the Saturn had extra features the original version on PS1 didn't have.

Graphics were good to me, but then again I was using a CRT TV, barely noticeable difference on my end. As for performance, it was fine with me when I played it.

The 3D way look more blocky but the 2D looks better. As for performance, there is no lag or anything, loading times might just be slightly longer.

Saturn version is my fav. It has the best costumes and the Battle mode is amazing.

The only excuse for not being able to comprehend tank controls is that you have a female brain.

Does it have the autoaim that the later versions of RE1 implemented?

Because launch RE1 does not have the autoaim. I could only imagine how hard it would be going back to that. I haven't played it like that in a very long time.
>>4123523
Graphics actually look pretty sweet for Saturn when I saw the videos. It looks different but still keeps the atmosphere to me. Chris looks more diesel on Saturn.

PAL version doesn't have auto-aim. Not sure about the others.

>PAL version doesn't have auto-aim.

That is a shame. Auto aim was a godsend for the series. Probably the most important gameplay addition to the classic/retro games with the 180 quick turn being right behind it.
