It bothers me how people had issue with the control. It isn't easy but it's an honest scheme to fit to inline skates.

Precision in control is becoming so expected that it's leaving very little room for fear of defeat. When your character is always doing exactly what you intend it to I find I'm left feeling the game is piss easy or that the difficulty is just annoying.

RIP Survival Horror.

Alternatively, how do I fix nullDC screwing up graphics (shadows flickering) and having no analog support?

>> No.420382

>>420221
Ok, figured everything by myself. Here's a quick guide for new players.

There's no fully working crack for the PC version, only partially ones. So unless you want to buy it get nullDC latest version, use the PuruPuru controller plugin, only one that supports analog.
The shadow flickering can't be helped I guess so you can turn shadows off by Options->PowerVR->Modifier Volumes: Off.

Works pretty well, having a blast.

>> No.421087

>>420382

If you're using a USB controller that has rumble, you can actually emulate the rumble in NullDC

Go to Options -> Maple -> Port A -> Subdevice 2 -> Attach Puru-Puru Pak (should be the bottom one)

And then, whenever you get hit, or anything, the rumble should work. I've tested it with Crazy Taxi and it works, although you may have to keep turning it on each time you open up NullDC.

In spirit, I mean. It plays like an arcade game. As in, relatively difficult, time limit, requires a real mastery of mechanics. Plus how short it is. It could have easily been an arcade game.

JSRF on the other hand? It's easy-going and you don't really need much skill. You get dropped in a hub without a time limit that lets you go anywhere. The areas are really huge and there's a real sense of exploring.

This is why it makes no sense to compare the two. They were made for different purposes. JSRF didn't try to improve JSR, it just took a different approach. Some people prefer the hardcore arcade variant, and others prefer the relaxed adventure variant.
