Do Japanese controllers work in American super Nintendo's

Yes, they are exactly the same

Not that guy but is it just me or are the NTSC-J Super Famicom controllers of lower quality than the PAL or NTSC-U Super Nintendo. As English is not my main language I am not sure what it's called but in every Super Fami controller I own those pillars which hold the screws fucking break when I open the controller.

Oh and fuck that short cord.

Super Famicom controllers have shorter cables than US/EUR controllers, just putting that out there.

I'd say in general, just buy controllers domestically, UNLESS it's something that didn't get released domestically.

Things like Hori Mini's, or Hori Super Commander's weren't released here, so the best place to get them is to import them.

But it's almost always better to just get stuff locally.

I'm pretty sure that happens with, at least, the american controllers as well. Especially if they've been used thoroughly.
