Just finished super mario bros on this. With save states for each level and regularly from world 7 onwards.

What a piece of annoying fucking bullshit. I mean yeah, if I played it in 1985 it would have blown my mind. But in 2017 it sucks. It just fucking sucks. 3 is still pretty damn good, I played it on gba.

SMB1 is babby's first platformer and you must really suck to use savestates on it. What are you? Five?

>> No.4084286

I hated it even when it came out.

Oh look, it's the new "Mario Bros 1 is hard"-meme again.

Don't you wann talk about DYNOWARZ instead, OP?

is the gba porting of super mario 3 any good? Or should I stick with s(nes) version?

Same as always, it has a cropped screen and worse sound due to GBA. It's still worth playing because despite these inherent flaws compared to the original version, it's a good port and has extra stuff, but you're better playing the original NES if you haven't played it yet.

I loved it. It has an instant replay feature that is really fun. I don't remember the screen cropping really being noticeable. Sound is fine as well. Must-have if you carry around a gba

I recently played had a through this too. I had a blast!

My only gripe is that I prefer the original NES graphics.

Only very little. Without the original hud it fits pretty well on the GBA screen. Same with the Kirby port.

You should try the NES version. The physics are different in terms of conserving momentum when hitting bricks. It makes a big difference in feel

I made an image. It's cropped a little more than I thought, but it doesn't seem to affect the game.

SMB2 was better than 1. You had more variety in levels and characters. Hell, the latter is something the series regressed on for the next several titles.

The smaller resolution is to be expected. It doesn't really affect anything.

The real sins are the voice clips and brightened palettes.

Not those two games. Since everything is shaded now it's generally a bit darker than the nes games.

I just beat it today without save states. It's not that hard. Just takes some dedication.
