I still haven't filled Ogre Battle or Final Fantasy 2 which is especially bullshit considering I used to have it and traded it Freshman year to this black dude in my art class for U.N. Squadron but at least shmup prices have been going up more lately compared to RPGs. Then I picked up a complete Japanese copy of Ogre Battle and it just sits there on the shelf beside the empty US box looking out of place.

To answer your question though, reproduction anything will always ALWAYS be different and noticeable by an expert. Don't you watch antiques roadshow? Reproductions are to impress casuals

Won't be long until they start just making "wall decals" of bookshelves filled with all the rarest games.

I mean, I didn't take pics of finding them but most of the boxes are folded out on my primary retro game shelf which I really need to rearrange to fit all my recent pickups and take a good focused picture of - and more importantly for my purposes my modern games since I have a bigger problem about buying duplicates of those.

It's the only place there was space to set up like my bachelor pad had been. I had some pretty baller parties down there that didn't require the same level of cleanup they would have upstairs before my son came along but it's been pretty disused. Honestly I think it's just one or two guys here trying to get a rise out of people since it's something you'd see on /v/ rather than /vr/. I only just now noticed an influx of people throwing it around a week or two ago and I've rarely ever seen it used in the past here so to have it pop up in so many threads frequently is suspicious.

I commandeered our guest room for my battlestation. Told my wife sorry not sorry that anyone who stays with us gets to bask in my enormous wall unit full of old videogames. Anybody under 50 usually thinks it's cool. I wish I had a picture, but its pretty tasteful. The Extron, wall unit, and XM29 really cut down on "fucking wires everywhere" syndrome

It's pretty obvious they're repro's. Especially the boxes that aren't the gray cardboard. Depending on the printing, they can be acceptable though, if you don't want to pay 200 for a fucking Official Mana box LOL

i can tell you a secret for telling fakes from the real thing, dunno if i should be sharing this tho, its kind of a big secret that only autistic collectors like myself who spend $2000 on cardboard would and should know about. suffice to say, i can spot a repro from an authentic box in about 10 seconds.
