Hey guys, just came back from my moms house and found a personal treasure. Sorry for my incoherent babble, but I'm just so emotional now:

>going through cramped basement looking for something
>suddenly mom says "anon, look, there seems to be Nintendo stuff in this box"
>say to myself there is no way of anything video game related still being here, I'm sure I took everything
>box is at the bottom of 5 other boxes
>rearrange the whole basement to get to it
>open it up
>BOOM
>my jaw drops to the fucking floor
>ca 30 fucking Nintendo game boxes, pic related
>almost started to cry, speechless

The crying part sounds gay as shit, I know. But you have to understand that I used to buy all of those games with my dad and there are so many memories attached to them. My dad is dead for 11 years now, and finding those boxes made all those memories come back to my mind. I lived my life believing I through away or destroyed all of those boxes when I was a kid. But here they are.

Thanks, dad, for the memories and for keeping the boxes safe for me.

Do you have similar emotional connections to video game stuff?

What are those boxes? Ancient bootlegs?
Why anyone collects bootlegs is beyond me.

They're PAL games, so pretty much just as worthless as bootlegs.

Wow they got some ugly art. Really? They look like poorly cropped NTSC games.

That's awesome OP.
I once found my Sega Saturn, I kind of completely forgot I had it and it was great to play it again, still use it to this day.
Things like this are better than buying used stuff from other people, knowing it was your own as a kid, then you thought you lost it, or you completely forgot it, finding it back feels really good.

Are you mad that I now have a CIB big box Terranigma?

>>4074771
The cool thing is there even were sealed flyers and posters and shit from that time Only thong that sucks is the moldy basement smell from 20 years in there

Not really, collecting cardboard is kind of dumb to begin with and on top of that you have to play the game in slow motion Please Allow Lag format.

Nope. Maybe if you had interesting box art but that was never the case with retro games.

I happy for you, Anon-kun.

What's the game in the lower left corner?

If you weren't mad you wouldn't even bring the regional format into this. This is supposed to be a feelgood thread, not a pal/ntsc wars thread.

Airboarder 64. Kindy crappy but I enjoyed it as a kid.

maybe don't play inferior versions of games?

>> No.4074813

I don't think you 3rd worlders understand that Americans really don't give a fuck about PAL. I mean to the point of it being irrelevant. Like we don't hate it and we don't like it. It's literally (not the meme) irrelevant. It's an inferior standard that's in the back of our minds just as "Oh ya that exists" bit of video game knowledge.

ITT shitposters throwing a fit about a god damn detail. It makes me wonder if they're not even baiting but just incredibly mentally challenged.

Good for you that you still got those boxes. We never saved them except the N64 console one and even that one got thrown away at some point. The fact games are much more expensive with the original box doesn't help to rebuy games that were taken away from me.

I found some old 5.25" floppies and tapes for an Atari we had growing up. I thought my mom had sold everything in garage sells a long time ago. Unfortunately I have no way of checking them to see if the data is still in tact.
