Hey /vr/ I have a bit of an oddity.

This is a retro trio I just got.

This is the image:
https://www.amazon.com/Retro-Bit-Super-RetroTRIO-Console-Genesis-System/dp/B00FQDEKM0/

Notice anything odd? For some reason, my console does not have a retrobit SNES controller that plugs into the genesis port. It plugs into the SNES port, and the switch is for SNES instead of genesis. The retrobit controller I got is a nearly perfect 1:1 clone of a SNES controller, and I can confirm you can plug it into a real SNES and it works.

Does anyone know why mine is different?

I'll ask my wife's son, he's an expert on these!

There a lot of bootleg shit on Amazon.
Sometimes even sold by Amazon LLC themselves, like the one Swiss Army knife I bought off there.

They revised it after a while.

Some engineer-y dude on the sega-16 forum said that this revision has worse hardware emulation for one of the consoles though, I think it's the SNES chip.

From my research on the reviews, this revision is more reliable though.

Your console is not different. It's just as shit as the others.

I am guessing you got a later revision of the system. I have been seeing a lot of threads here on /vr/ about replica SNES controllers, which seem to be the popular controller of choice of most others. Mine also has a default Genesis (for all) switch and the stock controllers it comes with are SNES shaped, but outputs to Genesis which is the default for all systems the Trio can handle.

Perhaps the newer revisions and that upcoming HDMI version of the machine will be SNES default now.
